I love how you specify "old" Korn. I feel the same way about them. After follow the leader they went to shit.... Anyway Some of what I listen to....

August burns red
Underoath
Every time I die
Texas in July
As I lay dying
Bring me the horizon
Our last night
Avenged sevenfold
"Old" Poison the well
One king down

I like some good punk music too. Strung out, pennywise, propagandi, ladwagon, etc....

I too grew up on punk music . . . got me through the middle and high school years. Jake from August Burns Red was my best friend in high school . . just thought I'd throw that in haha. If that band gets even bigger Im'a have to release the demos of the old bands we had together and make some money.

Wow seriously? Very cool.... One of my favorite bands and they're sick live. They always come hang out with fans after the show. Humble guys.

No hate to the guy who is friends with Jake, but they are by far the worst band I have every paid to see live. At the show I was at they sounded terrible, couldn't get the crowd involved, and just overall were unimpressive.

Like I said, no offense.

Lamb of God, Hatebreed, At the Gates, Heaven Shall Burn, ZAO, Beneath the Sky, etc. I'm a fan of heavy stuff with amazing breakdowns.

Jake (singer for August Burns Red) is an attention seeker who loves to be in the spotlight in every situation, which in turn has made him an awesome performer. He's a natural at that. Not as much of an artist as someone who just wants to be a star. But, maybe they were having a bad night (it happens).

I personally am not into this type of music now, nor was I into it when it was still considered "cool" by the scene that spawned it (early 2000's at latest). This was when the shows for this type of music were amazing. You can consider this band like a photo that has been Xeroxed a few hundred times over - a formulaic band not near as awesome as the originals who were passionately creating their own style.

Not hurting my feelings at all, but they really must have been off or the venue was bad. I've seen them three times and they were balls to the wall and sounded just like the CD each time.

Yeah and like btech and you said, maybe they were off. I don't know. I was there to see Scary Kids Scaring Kids back when I was a skinny emo kid so I got what I paid to see, haha.

Either way, props to them. They definitely seem to be making more of a name for themselves around the country lately. They were pretty well unknown it seemed like when I saw them.
