personal security...serious answers please

i have worked with a company for 2 years right now doing security for events,bars,clubs,concerts ect....well right now i have a chance to get involved in personal security with this company and want to know a few things..
#1 when applying for my pistol permit ,is it best to say it is for personal use or professional ?

#2 what handgun does anyone recommend ? Glock..

#3 What kind of hand to hand training do you recommend ? I need /want the kind that is easy and effective and does not take 8 years to learn..my time to allow for full time training is min as i go to school full time and work full time..

#4 any ideas or thoughts i did not ask you guys that i should have...

if you apply for it for work, then from my understanding, you can only carry it for work

if you apply for personal protection, then you can carry 24-7 cuz you need to protect yourself 24-7

i'd carry either an HK or a Glock... i know everyone has "the best" gun out there but buy quality.. pay the little extra.. its your life

i would do one of those week/weekend tactical pistol courses... just do a google search, they're very popular

and practice a few times a week after the class to keep your skills up

I own a Glock and they are a fine handgun. They are reliable and can at least hit the side of a barn from 5 yards. I use the Glock occassionaly for concealed carry, but I'll probably trade it or sell it to get a Para Ordinance or Kimber 1911. I currently have a Springfield 1911 and think it's one of the best pistols I've ever shot and I've shot alot of pistols. The 1911 has been around for almost 100 years and continues to be one of the greatest handguns ever created.
Like Mr. Pickles said pay a little more for quality. If you buy a cheaply made weapon it may fail when you need it.

yes a glock is a fine handgun...I'm just messing with BBB lol I bought a AK-47 last year and they are a fun gun to mess with. The AK-47 is a unrated gun. It has alot of power and it'll fire under unreal conditions. You can roll it in the dirt and mud and it will still fire. The 7.62 cal can do some damage, but i don't think BBB wants to carry around one of those lol. They are loud as f*ck too.

Glock is the best way to go. I've got one and love it. I also have a s&w 44 magnum just in case I want to scare the shit out someone.

Do tape your wrist up to shoot that one Tman? lol They kick like a mother. I just bought a .50 cal desert eagle from gander mountain and it's not even fun shooting it. You have to grab right ahold of that frigger and hang on lol.

I don't know if you guys have ever seen a MARTIN 19 gernade launcher but I live by a military base and they mount on top of the hummers and they shoot out gernades and can clear a forest in about 30sec. lol how's that sound BBB?

For hand to hand try taking aikido lessons. Also learn to throw a punch but never rely on throwing a punch. As for a handgun, HK is always good, Glock is very good. Prices will vary. My favorite gun i own is a takarov 9mm. Field tested and it has never malfunctioned on me. $150 for a nice used one. I am not sure the laws in your state but you can take a concealed carry course and then purchase a license, just remember if you ever stopped by law enforcement to tell them ahead of time. If you are doing personal secuerity and have the proper license on you then generally all is well with that.
