Yesterday at work I was helping a customer load a refrigerator into his truck when he decided to let go because his hand hurt. I had no time to react and didn't release my grip, I thought he was just adjusting since we were close to hip height.

This caused me to lurch forward, bending at the waist. My wrist hurt and that was about it. Got it loaded up, finished the day.

About 36 hours later I was resting my arm on my leg when I got an intense pain in my groin area. It was right in the "fold" where your hip/stomach/groin/thigh skin all meet (whatever the hell that is called). I felt, there's a nice, very sore bump just under the skin. It's hard as well. I also did notice a slight pain in my left testicle, although the bump is on the right side. Can't say the two are related except they started within 24 hours of each other (testicle pain the night of the refrigerator drop).

Has anyone had this? I had one about 8-10 years ago but never did anything about it. It went away after a few days. No pain either, just a lump on the left side in the exact same area. I can't get into my doctor until the 2nd week of July.

Any advice? This thing hurts like a bitch. I am going to talk to my boss tomorrow and see if he can keep me off heavy objects like that for a few days. Or at least get one of the other guys who I trust to help me load heavy things.

It sounds like an inguinal hernia. I wouldn't train with it because if it it is a hernia you may make it worse. Go see a doctor.

Being a small business owner let me give you advice. Go immediately to your boss and report it. Since, it happen on the job, he has to take care of all medical expenses. Never mention any pre conditions. He is also reponsible for workers comp., which is law for him to have. He has to send you right away to a doctor, not in weeks, wether it be the emergency room. He can not threaten your job either, labor laws protect you. It happen on the job, it is your boss's responsibility, that includes any surgeries to correct it.

Pretty much what I thought it was. Joy. Two weeks on the job and this happens.

Thanks everyone. I'll let him know today.
