Prostatitis

I was diagnosed two weeks ago with prostatitis. PSA came back at .72 blood and urine showed white blood cells. I had a prostate exam done. I was told it felt boggy but not enlarged. I was taking sulfameth/tmp. Two days ago I was switched to Cipro 500 mg twice a day. I also got flomax.

Last few nights have been awful. Im up all night peeing I can't get any rest! Does flowmax take time to kick in?
Any tips with dealing with this? I've been using Cialis a bit but it makes me stiff and my nose gets so stuffed even in low dose. This is like torture.

Was thinking having my wife massage my prostate lol will that help?

I had it multiple times when I was younger...antibiotic is what got rid of it, but it was not quick and didn't fully get rid of it first time around either as I had to go back. Painful shit....and having your wife massage it will make it feel worse. lol I recall the doc telling me to stop eating spicy foods while it was being treated and try a hot bath when it really feels inflamed. Not sure either of those did much. Prostrate was never the same after that either in my case....I take low dose Cialis now daily to relieve the discomfort...works like a charm.

I have an enlarged prostate and Flomax really helped me. I get by ok now taking the lowest dose of that. For me it helped after taking just one pill. it was immediate relief. That is just my one case though. I also did not have prostatitis like you. Mine is enlarged probably from taking steroids and I do have a family history also. I was only about 45 when my trouble started.

Last night was better i got 7-8 hours of sleep only had to pee once at about 5am. This has been brutal i would never wish it on my worst enemy. Once I'm better I'm going to enjoy my life more and appreciate my health.

when you take cialis or viagra make sure to get vicks nasal spray. it has to be vicks brand. any other brand wont work or atleast as good.

i take a good amount of cialis and viagra especially during the weekends. last night i was so stuffy. vicks nasal spray will give you instant relief. its the best stuff ever invented

prostate

I started taking Saw Palmetto. It showed effects after about week. I don't have to get up and pee every hour. Maybe 1-2 times per night.

I've had it before and its horrible. Mine was incredibly inflamed and very painful. Something indirect that can help is smoother bowel movements. Tough bowel movements really would set mine off. Use some Metamucil EVERY single day. If your wife could learn the technique of draining the prostate correctly, it can be very beneficial.

Good advice man. I take a few grams of vit c powder it really helps a lot. Fiber actually clogs me up.

I started a thread on this quite awhile back. One dr diagnosed me with it and i was on 2 diffrent antibiotics for i believe 53 days(ya fun times) the cool part was after i was done with the antibiotics course another dr told me he thinks i never had it. Fucking dr's. Anyways i know if you have chronic prostatitis your in for a world of trouble and would wish it on no man. Do alittle research on it. Luckily wiether i had it or not it has never came back. Hope you have a full recovery!!

It comes and goes. If i remember correctly From the research i did when i had it. The infection never goes all the way away(if its chronic) its very difficult for the antibiotics to reach the infected area in the prostate. Thats why they have you take the antibiotics for such a long time. Someone stated above that if a partner could learn to milk the prostate that it would help. From what i read that would be extremely beneficial. Especially if its chronic!

They didn't find bacteria in my urine or blood. Looks like I'm in for a long bumpy ride. I'm on day 6 of Cipro 500 mg twice a day.
