Not trying to start an argument as to what's best just wanted to see everyones personal experience and opinion was

Tried every single protocol there is.

Got best gains with: (probably because total insulin dose was the highest due to lantus):

15iu lantus 2x per day
4iu regular insulin and 3-5iu gh 3-4x per day


All other protocols worked about the same (but way less than the one with lantus)


Pre-workout insulin was the trickiest for me, I ruined about 50% of my workouts due to going hypo, one day 10iu slin with 200carbs would be good, next day I'd go hypo etc, too hard to predict for some reason.

Also feel like I missed out on the insulin sensitizing effect of training since you are not letting training deplete the muscle and up-regulate the enzymes and what ever else goes on during training. This protocol is probably best used 1-2 times per week, on a lagging bodypart perhaps

I'll eat a small simple carb and protein meal with the hgh shot usually about 50g carbs and 50g WPI. Then pre/intra have a shake with 50g dextrose and various EAAs, creatine, etc. immediately Post will be 50g dextrose 50g WPI.

I've started to go hypo in the past when using humR but was able to quickly drink some simple carbs and take care of the issue.

When I run slin pre workout I always pin it around the same time as my HGH. For some reason this helps me from going hypo.

90 min pre, meal w 50g P, 75-100g carbs
1 hour pre 2iu gh
1 hour pre 10mg cialis
30 min pre 10-18iu R (i dont like alot on leg day, the pump cripples me lol at 15-18 and its hard to get the whole half gallon shake in on leg day without puking)
30 min pre, 3-4tbs Syraplex protien syrup (21-28g protein w glycerine)

Make shake with 150-175g fast carbs, 20g creatine
Finish 1/3rd on drive to gym, other 2/3rds in training

When i get home 1 carton egg whites ~100g carbs from cereal and sherbet

About 60-90 min later half chicken 2 cups rice

Pretty much MA protocol , without eaas intra

1.5 hours before - pre-workout meal

Before I walk out the door - L-Carn shot
As I pull into the gym parking lot - shot of Novolog
Then start sipping my Intra.


I've run insulin R tons of times and love it. Only thing I had to watch was when I shot R before the gym, I moved it out to about 45 mins BEFORE the gym. Even with that, I was going hypo usually twice around the 3 and 4 hour mark. Always had some carbs me. But I like Log just because its very predictable for me. It's in and out of your system and thats kinda the way I like it.

Yes, very true... forgot to add sometimes i change the timing slightly depending on what im doing later after training... actually, i really like taking the R sometimes 2 hour pre, eat the meal, train and take the shake, egg whites and sugar, then chciken and rice... i never get a wave after like this... good point... if its afternoon training i do it the first way, if its late night or im gonna be going out after, ill do it pre the pre trainijg meal.... i still yet to try log, soon tho...

And you shoot 10-15iu of humulin R. You took WAY more than enough to cover the insulin. Would this have any negative effect other than shuttling more nutrients and possibly storing more fat? The excess carbs won't cause an additional release of insulin from the pancreas in addition to the exogenous insulin to cause one to go hypo?

In laymans terms: will taking TOO many carbs cause any bad reaction other tha fat gain?

I sometimes take my gh with my slin pre-workout for convenience.

Lately it's been something like
1.5-2iu gh + 6-12iu insulin-R.

12iu if I'm having a pre-workout meal at least 1hr prior to lifting + intra shake.
The meal would be something like oats + whey or rice + chicken or tilapia.

Pre/Intra-shake is gatorade (dextrose), bcaa's, and a combination of other goodies like (creatine, tmg, l-carnitine, arginine, agmatine, Vit.C, Nac, baking soda, taurine). Not always all of them together.

Immediately post-workout I take a whey shake.

break down the timing of what you are doing w the food and the R please... eating the carbs before active? all during? half during, half before sleep? How many days a week do you do the high carb days? are they on training days I'm assuming? do you do low carb days? need to know

Great questions! I'm running a high frequency, low volume routine my coach designed. I'm currently lifting 6x's a week (which I've never done before) and my high days are all lifting days with one low carb day, which is 225g of carbs (I up fats drastically to keep the overall caloric intake roughly the same). The plan was to run slin on the lifting days. I take the majority of my carbs in pre, during, and post, then spread the remaining carbs out for the rest of the day. Depending on the day, I take in at least half of the carbs around training (350-450ish).

Protocol-

4iu slin + 50mcg igf1-lr3 pre workout.

I sip on orange juice and bcaas intra workout.
Post workout shake with 40g carbs

6 hours later another 4iu slin followed immediately by a carb meal of at least 40 carbs lean protein and moderate fat

I've always taken a few days off a week, and a week off here and there ... i train only 4-5x a week... you may find that you lose sensitivity faster using 6x a week R... am far from an expert to give any tailored protocol but thats my overall take from what I've read..

i think it would be interesting experiment to see maybe a chad nichols sort of approach to huge 1000g days w 3x a day R but only 2-3x a week too

Yeah, I've read about his protocol and it sounds interesting. I think it could definitely yield some serious gains as long as all other aspects are solidly in place.

I think I'm going to start off conservatively and running it 3-4x's a week on weak body parts. We'll see what happens! :D

What did the guys do in the 90's? I mean you have Dorian, Coleman, Nasser, fux etc, They didnt use any of this fancy timing stuff and all and were huge mass monsters?!

a few of those guys you listed worked directly with milos and other "gurus" regarding slin lol.... of course they timed everything and went with the latest protocols from the people they were working with...surely you don't believe someone like ronnie did all his own research of theories and trials of different ways of utilizing insulin and gh based on his extensive scientific and medical background (meant to be sarcastic) lol
