More alarmist media reporting, ignoring the facts!
See these stats complied by Rick Collins:
High School Steroid Use is Decreasing
Despite claims of a "burgeoning epidemic," the truth is that teen steroid use has been declining. According to the published data of the widely accepted Monitoring the Future studies, the percentage of 8th graders who reported using steroids at least once in their lives went from 2.5% in 2002 down to 1.9% in 2004. Among 10th graders, the figure went from 3.5% in 2002 down to 3.0% in 2003 and then down again to 2.4% in 2004. Among 12th graders, the decrease was from 4.0% in 2002 to 3.5% in 2003 to 3.4% in 2004. Obviously, any non-medical steroid use by adolescents is unacceptable. However, it's wrong for self-serving professional alarmists and sensationalistic journalists to create unfounded hysteria. -- Rick Collins, www.teamlegalmuscle.com
