So I'm back to playing football this season. This past weekend was the second game. I layed out to block a kick and someone got blocked into me. I took a knee in the lower right rib and kidney area on the back side. I didn't go to the doctor as they generally don't do much for this type of injury other than say no gym, no football and plenty of rest. I'm hoping for only a real bad bruise and not any fractures. I've been icing it like crazy.
The reason I don't have time to sit out is the coach from the defending National Champions showed up to the game. He wants me to come and play for them in the up coming season. I'm going to practice tomorrow for them for the first time to checking things out and see what's what. But I don't see them sitting around and waiting to long for this to heal.
Anyone have and injury like this?
How long did it sideline you?
I had a buddy that fractured ribs up higher and he bitched and cryed all the time. I think I have a much higher pain tolerance than he does though. Other than ice I don't know much of what I can do for it.
