Sorry to be the bearer of sad news, but I just found out that Dr Fred Hatfield just passed away at age 74 from cancer. He was a legend in the powerlifting and fitness world and one of the first to raw squat over 1.000 lbs. He wrote several books on training and was a coach to many of the sport's more successful athletes. Originally diagnosed with metastatic cancer in 2012 and given 4 months to live. he bought himself an additional 5 years through the use of a Keto based diet. Hi will be missed. Prayers for him and his family and friends.

your brother in Christ,

Lucky

RIP Dr. Hatfield....I remember reading articles by Dr. Hatfield in the old muscle magazines. He used to be a host on the "Worlds Strongest Man" competitions too.

Sad. A legend in powerlifting for sure. But he didn't raw squat 1000 lbs. He was the first to squat 1000 lbs i competition but it was with wraps and suit. The wraps and suit back i the early 80's was nothing like todays wraps and suit though.

A true legend! In '86 or '87 at the age of 45 he squatted 1014lbs.

Sad news indeed. He has written a lot on our sport and I have one e-book Called Scientific Bodybuilding which is quite helpful.
A prayer goes out for his family and loved ones.
