Not a dumb question at all. Put cold water in a large saucepan, add the raw chicken breast and place over the heat. Bring to a boil and reduce to mild boil. Usually about thirty minutes on the boil or slightly less depending on the size of each breast. Add the curry powder (generous amount) while the water is cold. You only need to stir after it gets to bioling, just to mix the spices a bit. Pluck out the breasts when done and look at how much fat sits on the surface of the water..........The flavor is great and the meat just falls apart. Great for shredding into a salad or with brocolli and green beans.BIG-JD said:i do all my own chicken, and this a stupid question, but how exactly do you boil your chicken, i need somethin different.
oldfella said:As long as seasoning does not contain oils or salts then any of them are fine. I eat a lot of boiled chicken breast. I add some curry powder and powdered mustard to the water and boil away. It puts flavor through the meat and makes a nice change to the diet.
What I do is not add any salt to foods. I rely on the sodium in the food itself. I drink what many would call excessive amount of water all the time. On average 8-10 liters per day. On precomp I up that to 12-13 liters per day. I have never had issues with bloating as many on here complain of. i use water to get rid of water. it is the secret to keeping normal hydration levels and to get rid of sub-Q water before a show. So I do not do sodium loading/depleteing or any of that "fancy shit" that will get you into trouble. I do not use dieuretics either. Most of if not all the foods we consume have sodium in them. I do not go out of my way to avoid salt, I just do not add any.kidstuff said:do you limit salt throughout the whole diet? why?

I either have the top off or just place it on top off at an angle, otherwise it can boil over. This way you can set a timer and read threads here at promuscle while your chicken is boiling away!!! I use a pot that will let me boil about a kg or kg and a half of chicken. Make sure the chicken is completely immersed in water!!BIG-JD said:do you boil with the top on or off? and how big of pot do i need to use.
