Smoking and gear
Gentlemen, I have a serious problem. My very best friend is about to start his first cycle. Reforvit-B with a Winny-V finish(drinking both). My concern is that he is a smoker, close to 2 packs a day maybe more. Been smoking for at least 15 years. I'm very worried about his heart. I know from experience that AAS will raise the BP. I know from experience that smoking raises BP. He has no plans on doing any "real" cardio work(running, biking, etc..) during his cycle.
I smoked for 16yrs myself. But when I decided to follow my dreams and commit to bodybuilding, I quit cold turkey.
Can somebody please lay down some COLD HARD FACTS about the risk here! The obvious risks of "just smoking" aren't enuf to make him quit.
Phil, PB, Big A, RY and all the other bigs who have helped me personally beyond my wildest expectations, Please help me help him. I don't want him dead.
Thanks, GD

Regardless that steroids are safer than some other drgs, they are still drugs and they do stress the body in ways it shouldn't have to be stressed. As such, when on a cycle, one should not drink, smoke or do recreational drugs as the body is under enough stress from the steroids.
Smoking kills, blah, blah, blah... The fact is it's quite harsh on the body and it does increase blood pressure. Most steroids as a rule increase blood pressure too. It is not a good idea to have them combined.
I personally am proud of the fact that I have never had any side effects and that my blood tests are always perfect. I greatly believe that the reason that is so is because I do not touch alcohol, cigarretes or any other rec drugs, so my body can handle the gear.

He will never make any signifcant progess without giving up the cigarettes. He won't be able to train with sufficient intensity because he won't have the aerobic capacity to handle it. Also, he will be more likely to give up training while still smoking. Recovery from workouts will be very difficult because smoking reduces the oxygen carrying capacity of the red blood cells. He needs to quit smoking, start working out and get his diet in order. Then, after a year or two, he can consider using anabolics. PB
