It was probably my fault for titling that post First "Poll" for Feature Member so I fixed it 
This is more like it - I see some good reasons and votes now.
The reason I made the first Featured Member "OPEN" rather than man, woman, competitor, etc was to give EVERYONE a chance to be the first! So it wouldn't look like I was being arbitrary, I figured we could ALL vote on who gets the spot. When I presented the idea to Big A, he said he would work with sponsors to provide prizes.
There's no rule about not being qualified if you're already on the banner or not. But, one of the reasons I came up with "Featured Member" was for at least one of the many deserving members that were not on the banner to be in the limelight. And to give EVERYONE a chance to be on the banner, we would rotate it every month.
