STEWIE! Or others

Sickle cell, Stewie?

If she has sickle cell, I would suspect she would have been diagnosed with sickle cell at a younger age. Ethnicity somewhat comes into play too. She looks Caucasian, not that Caucasians can't acquire sickle cell as it's
nondiscriminatory. Just not very common in Caucasians.

Just talk to the infectious disease doctors I guess she has somewhat of a rare occurrence mono with a CMV virus anybody's as well so they wonder about some sort of blood infection might order a CT scan to rule out lymphoma

Well let's hope not! Sadly tho, as aforementioned, EBV is associated with several forms of cancer. Lymphomas being up on the list of the most common.

Hoping for the best!

Can never develop later in life?

Yes it can. From my understanding being an inherited diease, it's usually caught earlier in life than later in life. Unless the parents had no idea they were a carrier.

Thanks.
Just talked t the doctors and they were quick to dismiss stills and such as per no body rash
They feel it either EBV or CMV. ... But since from same family they can't really tell.

They don't want to release until they can say with certainty. That something else isn't causing. Which is nice!
Next up

Total body CT scan and test for toxoplasmosis

Always, but especially, in cases like this a COMPLETE history and physical is essential. I'm saying that as an advocate for health, not to be overtly judgemental. Including and not omitting use of AAS especially if UG, research chems, rec drugs, herbal and OTC substances, etc.

I do realize that there is plenty of people in the field that may treat you differently if they have this type of information. It is a major ethical issue in medicine, but in the case of critical illness where serious morbidity and mortality are in the prognoses, please be open and honest with your physicians.

I wish the best for you and yours, and will be praying for a swift and complete recovery.

News?

You mentioned lots of sweating. Any particular foul smell to it?

I was seeing many adults being diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.

I had mono back in 2000, and it was absolutely miserable. The only thing that helped was taking Vicodin q 2 hours for like 2-3 months.

Thanks.

Of course they can tell. Just look at the relative titers and capsids Ab.
I would be popping spleen extract and avocados, IMO, because from what you've been saying, these guys are a bit short on diagnostic skills.

Well. Here the update. If we can call it that.... 10 days in the hospital and she got out yesterday.. They're kind of baffled
The antibidy tests were positive for CMV and EBV.... And try said that's rare to have both. So they sent the blood away to check for the ACTUAL viruses.
The one specialist came back who was certain due to symptoms it was at least mono. The EBV came back negative. So he was baffled
10 min later the other head doctor came in..... Looking stressed. And he said CBV was positive. I said that's good no? Atleast accounts for symptoms
He's like. Yeah and no. Good we have answer. But it doesn't explain why her body reacted so bad. Normally healthy people would just fight it off. To be this severe is usually in patients immuno compromised. Like AIDS patients. Cancer patients. Ect.
Luckily they've ran every test from A-Z SO NOTHING serious. But they're confused.
Her discharge liver enzymes are trending down
AST---267
Alt-----558
When admitted they were like 2000 and 2400
Infectious disease wants to keep following on an outpatient basis

It must be frustrating but hang in there! Hopefully once the blood is checked for the virus it will give them a better understanding of what's going on.

Finally had scan done. Early so my mind wasn't working. Managed to snap the last pic with the dye in

From what i can see from those very limited views yes the spleen is a little bit enlarged as is the liver ( or maybe ridels lobe...) The spleen is tough to see without the appropriate windowing but I can see some attentuation differences on this portal venous image that might be a small area of infarct.

Her partially visualized thyroid top left is fine.

And you showed us a pic ( top left) just under her vagina... No pathology there I can see lol
