Stomach bloat and pain

Would like some advice as to why I am getting so much discomfort from eating !? I am eating a high protein diet with low glycemic carb regiment yet it pains me to eat !! I have went to the doctor who said I had irritable bowel syndrome, so he gave me something for that and it seemed to work for a while. Next I cleansed my colon with a colon cleansing regiment felt great for a few days. Now Im back to feeling like crap again! Hell I even quit eating to see if that would help. Im at a point I need some advice as to what is going on from someone who has to eat alot for BB . could it be in the protein powder I use to supplement my protein quota for the day. Not alot maybe two or three shakes a day. I'm clueless!!!!:confused:

Some of those protein drinks used to bloat me pretty bad. To me that's a sign that digestion with those is not good. Try dropping those and see how you do. LBAs don't do me that way AT ALL. I feel much better using those instead.

have you tried using digestive enzymes or pro-biotics to your daily regimen?

bromelain and ginger root are both very helpful for digestion.

also, have you happened to take any anti-biotics recently?

I have added digestive enzymes to my day at each meal. I started taking Metamucil also. Im really concerned because it is hindering my progress to my goal. I compete and trying to get ready for a show but this eating problem is really sucking! My wife is a certified personal trainer and she claims Iam trying to eat too much. I eat 5 meals per day. SO What do I do??

the only thing i would suggest is possibly pursuing the method that phil preaches. eat only when hungry but strive to make yourself hungry by increasing your metabolism etc. you could also replace some of your proteins with LBA's which may help with the stomach bloat and pain since you wont be stuffing massive amounts of food any longer.

how long btw have you been eating in this manner. for me, when im starting to stuff face to gain weight, the first couple of weeks is really the hardest for me. i always feel bloated and gross but once my metabolism ramps up it becomes much easier to ingest that amount of food....
