To much stuff coming in with no support for it. My buddy works for customs its just to much to handle. I wouldnt worry. Its all gonna be random screening.
:banghead: THE WHOLE POINT OF HAVING ADVANCE ELECTRONIC DATA IS SO THAT YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO RANDOMLY SELECT PARCELS FOR SCREENING.

For each incoming parcel you will have a shit ton of information in the data base: name of sender and receiver, postcode of sender and receiver, week day and time of day sent, parcel weight, declared contents, parcel volume, etc. For each seized parcel, the algorithm gets fed these data, so over time the algorithm gets smarter and can make more and more accurate predictions about what parcels are suspect. So each incoming parcel gets allocated a risk score and only high risk parcels are intercepted. In addition, the addresses on any parcel can get blacklisted right away, so that shippers cannot recycle shipping addresses.

This is something that any undergraduate in computer science could program, and you only need to rent a couple of servers to store the data and run the algorithm.

Bro, read the thread! It's an electronic monitoring system. You know how fast computers can connectt dots? Each shipper has to have a known origin. Know origins that have had issues? Will be searched. The scanners will flag them and as time goes on, flag them all. I could see system setup like this, that catches 80% of all goods trying to be shipped in that are deemed illegal in say a year. It won't be worth it for suppliers. They will end up smuggling much like the cartel etc. The market will shift. Will their still be suppliers? Yeah, but there could be a few years where things change. It will become an entire different scenario. You'll have guys traveling overseas and trying to bring back their own stuff etc. I think this is the beginning of a significant change. This is not about some lowly customs agent deciding to search a random box or not. This about everything coming in, being scanned and automatically determined what needs to be searched or now. It will be a game changer.

Isn't it just the US Postal Service?

I'm pretty sure UPS and FEDEX are already involved in something like this.

Legit physician prescribed TRT is something I've been avoiding. Looks like I'm headed that direction!
Just buy a bulk amount at a cheaper price from Ashop and you're good for years. That's what I did.

I feel like its a game of cat and mouse, and it also comes down to each customs agent. Some of them probably don't give a fuck they're just there for a paycheck.

Eventually, the people sending stuff in will figure out a way to get it in safely. And this only talks about USPS I think, right? They're really going to log everything in electronically to make sure it comes from a verifiable source? There are billions of people in the world and the US imports so much stuff, I don't see how that could even be possible.

Time to sit back and see!!

I wonder about non government shippers like UPS and Fedex. Will they be forced to comply with the rules. If they are that will be a very significant increases in their cost to do business I would think. Maybe see a rise in the cost to ship things internationally at least.

Found a good page with some workers/exworkers posting the methods they use to detect packages. Seems UPS xrays all of the packages, according to this worker:

I worked for UPS for a little under 3-years and our way of checking packages for contraband and other illegal items is that we run all packages through an x-ray machine prior to loading to the airplane from point of origin, and in the same manner we also scan the box again upon arrival on the airport of destination.
UPS operates privately and has their own plane, airport, and tracking system. With this technology we are able to check validity of the declaration of packages vs actual contents.
In some countries we also have “sniffers”, a k9 unit that detects these illegal items. This tight process and detailed checking is the reason behind why UPS has a high premium on shipping parcels."

No one claimed they are gonna screen 100% of parcels. Nice reading comprehension :banghead: I said they will have electronic data for 100% of parcels, which means a computer algorithm can be deployed to select high risk parcels. Hence, with the same amount of manpower, customs agents will be able to seize many more parcels with contraband. Combine that with advanced scanning devices for only those high risk parcels, and seizure rates will be significant.

Again, people act like this is an impossible feat, when in reality countries like Australia are already doing it.

Not sure what you got so defensive about but whatever man. Your a little to wound up about this I think so I’m out.

Yea its just the US Postal Service that's joining, I believe. UPS, FEDEX, and another carrier already use a similar system, but the Postmaster General never wanted to join because it actually costs more to have the system than to not have the system.

The USPS doesn't receive any tax dollars for operating expenses so to implement an expensive system like this wasn't appealing to the Postmaster General.

I really think people are overreacting...there will be an increase in seizures for a month or two but you gotta remember it also comes down to the people working at customs. Some people don't give a fuck. There are soldiers who don't care about the military, cops who don't care about doing the right thing, EVERYONE at the DMV hates their fucking life lol, so relax.

From my experience, anything the government does usually sucks, and if it has success the success is usually short lived.

So that's as easy as a shipper using a "qualified" source as a fake return address, or getting fake identifiaction to pose as someone "qualified". Really not that hard to work around.

You guys gotta chill. There's a lot of money at stake here, I'd put my money in the sponsors hands as opposed to the US Postal Service and Customs/Border control.

Why would it be more difficult for the government to screen packages here compared to a country like Australia? I don't know anything about it, really. I've read that it's hard to get anything through customs there.

I hope that nothing major changes with this.

To me the big factor is the number of packages they have to handle. I haven't checked stats, but the population of Australia is pretty darn low compared to the US, and so the US is going to have 10x or whatever the volume of mail. The screening process cant take too long otherwise it will slow the speed of the mail system to a snail's pace. Im sure the US will have a much larger system to handle it, but will it be proportionally the same size as what Australia has? Handling a much smaller volume of mail is going to be easier.

i have stayed with domestic for years. im not worried about this for that reason. i stick to the the basics...test, winny, DHB and G. a few ancillaries, research chems... no narcotics and my physician helps once in a while. takes most of the hassle out of the game.

The thing that worries folks is that the domestic guys still have to get their raws from China. The industry will find a way to deal with it. On a side note, I do hope that the government intercepts a lot more of the opioids coming from China.
