I think a really good article and video on stretching
from the NY Times.

I for one have always felt worse after static stretching.
Looking back a few years ago when my wife (nothing
but good intentions) introduced me to Yoga to increase
my flexibility and reduce some chronic and acute
bouts of low back pain. We would walk to the gym
that was about a 15 minute brisk walk away, do the 45 min
class, then walk home. I actually felt worse on the
walk home after class. But after a weight workout
I always better.
Food for thought.
