I met Darrem a few years back and he is not rude or mean but he was one of the most anti-social bb'ers i have ever met and i have met over 30 infact when i think of it everyone i met but him was talkative and a genuine pleasure to be around...

i always thought that when you were being paid a few Gurrr to sit at a table and sign pics and take pics and then do a 4 minute posing routine you'd be more gracious to those who paid their hard earned money to say hi and shake your hand and maybe take a pic...

I noticed that 80% of most fans are too awe struck to approach a pro they look and talk from afar...


He has one of teh best in the sport and earned every placing he got and robbed a few times but he has a very eye appealing look i miss in alot of athletes now... he is the Bob Paris, Lee Lebrada, Shawn Ray of this era of guys.. Good job darrem

His physique is incredible; more impressive than some of the mass monsters who dominate the sport today, IMO. But yes, he is anti-social and a bit odd. In Battle of the Olympia 2003, he routinely said "Sh*t" during the taping. At one point, the camera man said: "This is a G-rated movie." Dareem looked confused and replied: "Sh*t is a curse word? I don't think so." And he continued to curse!

BrooklynBB, you are correct bro. I don't recall the exact date, but he lost his mother around the same time frame. Certainly a terrible loss.
