Taking time off from gym. Better growth

Loook my gains are stalling and no pumps or improvemmnets. I read alot how ppl take week off every 8-12 weeks. Every notice new gains when u come back
 
I don't know about everybody else but I personally cycle my training every 6 weeks or so, I train on a specific plan for 6 weeks VERY intensely then take a week off to let my body recover. After coming back I always feel stronger, joints feel better, and I am much more excited/pumped to be in the gym. You might give this a try, I also set a new goal for every 6 week phase. It might be to set a new pr on a lift, to gain 5lbs of lean mass, or just to maintain my weight and lean out a bit. works for me.
 
I know it's important to take time off or 'deload' every few months but I never can bring myself to do it. Never taken more than 3 days off in a row... ocd i guess:D I think tho that if you are in-tune with your body you know when to back it off for a bit and when to push it to the max. Not much of an answer but thats my 2 cents...

Sounds good so you notice new gains then
 
new gains yes, but you also need to vary your program to include new stimulus as well, aka mix up rep schemes, exercise selection and order, and your split as well. It seems to me that everything works really well for 6 weeks then gains start to slow, I will take a week off, vary my training slightly and see new gains.
 
i take a week off every 3-4 months and honestly i think a prolonged rest like this is one of the most under used tactics in the sport. now will u notice gains when you get back to the gym?..probably not, however your body will be so rested that you will be able to get back into a good routine which in turn will enable you to make gains. so no you will not see gains if you take a week off however in the long run you should
 
I think it's important to (deload) once in a while,take a wk off or tune down the volume of your training every now and then to prime your body for future growth.your just gonna fry your central nervous system training extremely intense and heavy for months and months on end
 
Oh I know it my cns is burnt toast I for sure need just days off cause I can't even get pump just going through motions. I lost strength too was repin 405 on bench now it's a ton. I miss that indestuctable attitude havnt had it in weeks
 
in order to progress and not maintain you need to address these aspects ofyour training


sets
reps
tempo
range of motion
weight
excercises

you need to vary all of these from time to time to stimulate
