My buddy got bloodwork done. Test is high but sex glob hormone is low. How is that?

SHBG is usually low for guys using a lot of androgens, including test, although it depends on many different factors.

High androgens lower SHBG, high estrogens raise SHBG, high thyroid raises SHBG, low thyroid lowers it, insulin lowers it, low carb diets raise it, and so on. Not to mention many different medications raise or lower SHBG.

Yeah was just going to go out on a limb and suggest estrogen was crushed with AI and thus SHBG dropped. Could fix with exogenous estradiol and cessation of AI. Need to find right balance point especially if synthetic anabolics are being thrown in the mix. Some of them can decimate estradiol too.

Probably just too much AI...
