good man thanks for asking

i go for a third MRI monday to see exactly, but
it looks to be a muscle rupture, tendon still attached
minor muscle rupture, no surgery

they say it will NEVER look exactly the same, but very close
as it wasnt too severe, at the very worse he said a very small divot
if that......all in all im very pleased

been hammering away on legs eod, lol...and they'er actually responding
well to the training..... short 40 min sessions

also doing alittle lightweight bis and tris
did alittle delts and back yesterday,
couldnt really do any presses, but i'm able to do raises to the side
though i'm still real tight in the chest

i'll keep you updated.....thanks for the concern bro

:)

What does that mean when they say a muscle has "ruptured"?

well......from what they told me

its when muscle tears from muscle
nothing they can do

but......they also said that these type of
injuries in most cases, depending on the severity
can actually re-grow so-to-speak

I think you mentioned hearing a sound like a t-shirt tearing? I have had tears like that in both of my quads(vastus lateralis). Weird thing for me is that I had zero bleeding but terrible terrible pain so bad that I could barely walk. I think in my case that I just tore connective tissue and that you did actually tear the muscle. I think I tore the fascia that covers the muscle.

One of my tears happend right in the area I had been doing my injections. My theory is that perhaps the swelling I had from the injection helped cause the tear of the fascia. Were you by chance injecting in that area of your pecs?

Definitely it will regrow if it is a muscle from muscle tear. I was involved in an fight back in 2006 and sustained a deep laceration to my left forearm from a knife.

My mid forearm was sliced clean to the bone perpendicular to my arm, 4 inch scar. The doc had to sew the muscle together with bio-degradable sutures and staple the rest.

When the nerves came back it felt like my arm was on fire. By the grace of God no tendons or arteries were hit. Healed up nice and works almost like new.

I'd look into having it sewn together by a plastic surgeon if you're worried about the look of your pec. I hope you heal up quick and pain-free.

Sounds like it could have been much worse. Seems like everyone I have known through the years that trains seriously has been injured at some point. Heal fast bro. The downtime sucks though, not to mention being crammed down inside that MRI tube

Just curious Tenny, what was the movement/poundages that caused the rupture? Sounds like you will have a complete recovery. Good Luck!!!

I occasionally get the same thing in the legs. Mine is scar tissue tearing. Usually a rupture will be the muscle from the tendon. I've never heard of a muscle from muscle tear. Either way, I doubt it will be very noticable once healed. I would highly recommend an ultrasound machine. Things heal exponentially faster with one.
