My grandmother, In'ae (Anna) Choe Loomis, passed away on November 5. It has been a very tough week for Natalie and I as we were very close to her and I being one of her 9 grandchildren was very close to. It has been a week of tears, sadness, joy, laughter, stories, and reverance as we celebrated her life.
I will miss her very much and I will miss her cooking the most. She would cook me pounds and pounds of rice while I was dieting for my shows and I give her all the credit for my massive offseason muscle gains with all the food she made me eat.
I had told Jethro the bad news and told him a little about my grandmother and he said that he would like to be introduced to her. I thought it was best that anybody that wanted to get to know her could by reading this paragraph about her:
Anna was born of Korean ancestry in Osaka, Japan. In 1947, coming to this country proved both challengin and rewarding. She realized that hard work, loyalty, and dedication made it all the worthwhile. The focus of her love- family, friends, and faith was shown through her generocity, kindness, and mostly making sure that we were always fed. She was a constant gardener, she said it was like life--- growing things have a beginning, then they blossom, then they fade away, but best of all they are renewed again. She had a gift for knitting, crocheting, quilting, and sewing. She adored all her family's dogs and sat for hours watching birds at the feeder. Ann raised a very large family with little means and they were her great love. She always had her faith and finally had time to express it in her later years. Her joy was going to church on sunday to express her thankfullness for all the blessign she had recieved during her long life. She was ALWAYS happy, let us be happy for her.......We will miss her......
