I got pinned under a 3rm squat and badly damaged my shoulder and bicep because the poser douchbag i was training with was checking out a chick in the mirror while pretending to spot me.

DEFINITELY should have had some safety measures in place.

ONLY ninja spotters could have reacted in time to keep the bar from hitting the guys chest.

When I watched it I had my eyes almost closed lol.. the one I won't watch is the one where the guy was squatting and comments say when his knees broke they sounded like a 1000 rubber bands screaming in pain... ... anyway I am at 345 x 2 with the slingshot but I am scared to go heavier because of vids like this ...

I certainly am not going to watch it. I wonder why people even share videos of people dying makes me sad. Possible cause of death could be anything but primarily cardiac arrest i am guessing.

Sounds like it was probably breathing related because it broke many ribs and those probably pierced his lungs. His diaphragm was destroyed too it said, so he basically suffocated it sounds. It mentioned some damage to the heart too I think.

Getting 8 plates up...405 lb was on my bucket list for two decades. I got it up about 3 wks ago. If I had seen this video prior to attempting it, not sure if I would have even tried. Really is a wake up call. RIP

I'm not watching the video, I dropped 505 from arms length while benching in my early 20s cracked my sternum and broke 3 ribs under my right arm!
I still bench but it haunt's me.
At the time I was using a thumbless grip and no wrist wraps never again after that.
And I had 3 excellent spotters but that weight came down soo fast no one could react quick enough.
