trading food for whey?

I was using whey isolate between meals 3/4 per day. Now I use liquid eggs whites instead of the whey. 6 16 oz cartons at Costco for 7.99. Took about 3 weeks for my body to adjust but it's my mainstay for protein aupplements.

I was actually gone start a very similar thread to this yetsterday, may was well ask the question here...

How does whey concentrate compare to chicken?

I eat 4 chicken meals and 4 meals using shakes, all meals are 50 protein each, am I hinding my gains by using shakes, would I gain more eating more chicken, beef, eggs even if the macros were the the same?

Been playing on my mind for ages this, iv asked a few super heavys and there answes are mixed, what your opinions?

Ps: it's purely a cost issue I use 4 shakes

I used no whey for almost 2 years. Only eggwhites post work out. Shelby has me on 2 shakes a day and in the beginning it went up to 3... My progress has been better then ever. I don't think it matters if its only a couple meals you replace. Each shake should definitely have the things you would have in a complete meal. Carbs, proteins, fats... In whatever macros you would normally eat.

This is basic stuff. If your macro nutrient intake is where you want it to be on a consistent basis how you make that happen makes very little difference. There is a hierarchy when it comes to nutrition Caloric intake comes first, then the macro nutrient breakdown of the cals you consume, then the micro nutrient content of the food you choose to consume. I think this is where most people make mistakes, they worry about things like nutrient timing and etc before making sure there consuming the amount of food and macro nutrients their goal calls for.. An individual who consumes an abundance of shakes may be missing out on things that whole foods tend to provide I.e fiber, vitamins, minerals which surely can affect how you function but will have very little affect on your gains
