Treadmill best Cardio?

Any cardio is good cardio, but after talking to my cousin the other day, I am leaning towards walking (all speeds) on the treadmill as the best form of cardio. My cousin is in his early 50's. He is a diabetic and exercises to control his blood sugar. He likes to power walk out doors if it's nice, but uses a treadmill if the weather is bad. He and his wife have a stationary bike also. He said he can literally ride the stationary bike all day and his blood sugar doesn't budge. If he power walks (inside or out), it drops to where it should be. When he was first diagnosed as having diabetes, he started walking (to lose weight) and I think he was stunned at how fast the weight came off. I have a good stationary bike, but I have been thinking about a treadmill for a long time. After hearing this and with summer coming up, maybe I should seriously think about getting one. Any comments about what my cousin said or what things I should look for when buying a treadmill?

interesting

I have no idea what the explaination for this is, but it makes me think: If riding the bike is not utilizing much blood sugar, then I would suspect this activity must be utilizing more fatty acids. On the other hand if the walking is dropping blood glucose quickly, then I would suspect fatty acid metabolism is minimal during this activity.
I would choose the bike for this reason. My blood sugar should be low anyway. And my goal is to burn more fatty acids.
I understand your logic, but I am drawing the opposite conclusion.

I agree. I usuallly drop 20-25lbs from walking on the treadmill at 4mph and of course I also diet.
