Update on quest to receive TRT from doc

For those of you who remember, I was diagnosed with low testosterone levels last month. I turn 29 years old in March:

http://www.professionalmuscle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41344

http://www.professionalmuscle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41530

Well, I went to see a urologist and he said he wouldn't prescribe me TRT unless I took more blood test. Here are the results from blood work that was taken 01-17-09:

FSH 4.3 range is 1.6-8.0 mIU/mL
LH 3.8 range is 1.5-9.3 mIU/mL
PROLACTIN 6.7 range is 2.8-18.0 ng/mL
ESTRADIOL <32 range is <=54 pg/mL
CORTISOL, TOTAL, SERUM 12.7 range is AM 4.0-22.0 mcg/dL PM 3.0-17.0 mcg/dL
SEX HORMONE BINDING GLOB 16 range is 7-49 nmol/L
TESTOSTERONE, TOTAL 509 range is 260-1000ng/dL
TESTOSTERONE, %, FREE 2.0 range is 1.0-2.7 percent
TESTOSTERONE, FREE 101.7 range is 50.0-210.0 pg/mL

The first blood work I had taken on 12-23-08 said:

TESTOSTERONE, TOTAL 236 range is 260-1000ng/dL
TESTOSTERONE, %, FREE 1.8 range is 1.0-2.7 percent
TESTOSTERONE, FREE 43.4 range is 50.0-210.0 pg/mL

What the hell is going on!!!!!!!! My test was low as hell a month ago and now it's not! And I haven't done anything differently. I'm not scheduled to see my urologist until Thursday January 29. I spoke with my cousin who is a urologist in residency and he said my urologist probably isn't gonna treat me with TRT because my test is not low.

Is there a chance my doc will treat me with TRT or should I start getting worried? Is there a chance he will take the first low testosterone results into consideration? I can't go on feeling like this (weak erections, lethargic, fat, depressed, etc.).

same thing here with my doc, test was like 300 something went back 6 weeks later and jumped up a little like your, your right probably to high for a normal doc to justify writing a script for test with those results,i eventually went to a clinic and got the script and 7 months later i feel great, just had blood work done and i am in the 800`s.(150mg wk test c)good luck bro.......whats your age ?500 isnt that high if your old enough??(according to certain doc`s anyway)u still might qualify...

I have a bunch of docs appointments set up with numerous uros and endos and if none of them will help me I plan on seeing a doctor at a wellness center in my area (which will drain my wallet because I will have to pay out of pocket).

What about this question: if I were to go to a wellness center with these test numbers would a wellness doc prescribe me TRT?

BTW, I turn 29 years old in March.

Good luck. I'm in a similar boat. Low "normal". PCP just stringently refuses to even send me to an endo. She had her assistant leave me a message with number and said they were "perfectly normal". Of course they did not disclose the refernece ranges - LOL and left out half the shite they should have (not a complete blood workup). I even offered to pay for the blood test and they refused to script it.

I swear to god, if Merck could figure out how to Patent Testosterone, you would be able to buy the shit at Wallmart this time next year. Why address the route cause when you can script Viagra for a limpie, prozac for the blues and other meds that make these slimmey phuckers money.

Depends on the wellness center you go to. That is a big difference if nothing was done different and previous labs were not post cycle or pro-hormone usage and results of a shutdown. Good to hear your numbers have improved thinking back my levels were shut down from an otc supplement as I fell into the prohormone craze and did not take PCT seriously due to them being a legal supplement. Supposedly time of day blood was taken and other dietary (soy) issues are supposed to effect test levels.

Here is the website for the center I plan on going to if all else fails. As you can see it's going to cost me a fortune:

Also, is there a chance my urologist will instead of TRT give me HCG and Clomid to help jump start my testosterone?

doubled eh...fuck me... sucks.. if your are lucky.. he will go by how you feel...and if you are telling the truth thats covered...

say no morning erections..
no interest
loss of erections during
fatigue..

if you are getting blood drawn again soo...go get smashed for 2 days and dont sleep.... should bring them down..

i got scripted at around 400ng......so who knows...hopefully he goes by feel

phats

I would, at a guess say you are going to be out of luck with those numbers.
Unless you have a very sympathetic doctor you will be left to your own devices.

That's the thing...I AM TELLING THE TRUTH. I have EVERY one of the symptoms you mentioned and many more.

Anyone care to comment on my idea of (if my doc refuses TRT) asking my doc to prescribe some HCG and Clomid to help increase my testosterone?

Run some tren A by itself for 3 weeks at 200mg a day and he'll script you then! Lol just kidding do not do that its a joke you would definately hate your life then

2 questions:

1. Can you guys please tell me what my total test and free test should be for a normal 29 year old who's NOT taking any anabolic steroids. I'm thinking around 630 ng/dL for my total test and 130 pg/mL for my free test. Is that about right?

2. What about AndroGel? Does that work? I have heard mixed reviews. If my doc were to agree to put me on AndroGel would that help increase my testosterone levels enough to where I could finally once again get a good solid erection like I used to? I'm being dead serious when I ask this.

I live near you and am in the same boat. Do you think they offer this kind of therapy there? I didnt see any mention on the website?

similar situation

yeah I know how you feel. had all the symptoms of low T, my primary care did initial bloodwork and free test came back low normal, but gave me endo referral.that took 2 mths to see endo. he basically told me i was fine regardless of symptoms. total test was 567 at that time (not really low even though normal range was 262-1593). im 29 so i know exactly how much the symptoms suck...you really dont want to do anything. gain/retain fat, no libido, cant get/keep it up etc. anyways i had no other options, or so i thought. I got my primary doc to test me again 6mths after seeing endo. i came up at 308 total test (300 lower limit) so i got another referral (someone on here suggested an endo). endo did more bloodwork because 1st was normal (567) but most recent was low (308), so he didnt want to prescribe anything unless he saw another low reading. turns out i came in at 195. he immediately prescribed testim, even gave me 2wks worth of samples on the spot. my prolactin normal. FSH, and LH normal def on the low side. symptoms have def improved a lot on testim. been on about 8wks now. im not 100% but i think im getting there. more bloodwork in a few weeks.
I would suggest posting on here where your general location is, to find out if anyone knows an endo or uro who they have experience with in your area. thats how i got help...and its the best thing that ever happened to me.
all the best bro! i know how you feel, and it sucks! at 28/29 i dont know why doctors dont understand that low normal T levels dont make sense, and make your life hell. if ive left out answers to questions you have, feel free to post here, i will check back, or just send me a PM. good luck
slow
