What do you do for your heart?

I am 29 now and not as worried about getting "huge" as I used to be. I matured slightly (stress slightly) and am looking to stay healthy. So what do you do to take care of your heart?

I am taking 6 grams/day fish oil
Polycosinal 40mg/day
psyllium fiber daily
Staying lower in bodyfat year round.

cardio 3-4x per week after workouts with HIIT.
 
I do cardio everyday.
Last week on television here was that omega 3 doesnt work for your heart it was tested and was just to make money all those ads.
When i,m on a heavy cycle and i dont do cardio then i always feel tired but when i do cardio in a cycle i feel great.
Also i take daily asperin 100mg to keep my blood thin.
Good question from you i also hope to read what other do about this.

cardio is the single best thing you can do for your heart......and not bodybuilder cardio.....which isnt really cardio at all....but cardio as it is meant to be.....much higher heart rate to really stress the heart.....
 
I actually picked up cycling about 4 months ago. I do a 60 mile group ride every saturday morning. We average over 20 mph and it is pretty competitive. Talk about giving your lungs and heart a workout. Combining this with lifting 4 days a week and I am in the best shape I have ever been in.
 
For overall health I take fish oil, vit e, b super complex, c, multi, calcium, magnesium, zinc, lipitor and try to get 2 to 3 days in of cardio for at least 30 minutes to maintain a decent level of conditioning for off season and general good heart health.

Oh and mainly white meat or fish, use only evoo to cook with and try to keep a pretty lean diet w/ occassional splurge of half fat ice cream or something like that

Cardio and half an aspirin daily. The cardio may be boring but I think of it as a necesity like brushing and flossing my teeth.

Diet: Limited red meat
Training: Intense cardio daily.
 
fish oil, asprin/day, and don't forget CoQ10.....
 
bicycle everywhere. its non impact, can be be low or high intensity depending on your mood. you can even do interval training with short intense bursts followed by a moderate periods - all depends on what you feel like. best part is, if you get tired you cant quit. if you ride 5 miles away from home and are tired - you GOTTA ride home, other option is to walk so either way your stuck doing it!!!!

This really makes a difference, I am in better shape inside and out since I started doing this regularly a couple of months ago.
I haven't noticed any muscle loss like I feared; in fact, my lifts are up because of the improved oxygen function.
 
all that shit is great............but............if you dont live a laid back, easy going lifestyle and have a similar personality all the stress and worrying will kill you anyways. be happy, be in love, enjoy life, dont stress about shit you cant control...............best thing you can ever do.

Gotta agree with you there. stress will kill you faster than booze or smoking. Having a balanced, happy life is far more important than diet and exercise.
 
flax seed, garlic, most importantly cardio + low fat diet
