What's the longest time you have taken off bodybuilding?

40 now, when I was 15-23 I was really hooked on it. Then I had to start with responsibilities, school, career, ect. Got started again at 30,young adult, doing the gym daily. Then at 31, my first daughter was born, 11 months later, my youngest daughter was born. Took me off the track again. Spouse and I joined L.A. Fitness 2 years ago and just can't seem to get life back on track. Since joining the forum, I think maybe a week cuz my daughter got me sick!

I took a full two years off. No gym or anything. Did some cardio type stuff that's about it. Diet was crap too but my break wasn't by choice at all. Just started back last May and hoping to get on stage again in Nov.

3 years for no reason at all other than to party, wasn't even that fun. I did get all my gains back in 6 months though.

Took off upper body for 4 months because of a shoulder injury.... Only did legs.. but then i ended up getting a herniated disc and took off everything for another 3 months...

so total time off upper body was 7 months and man did i lose everything!!!! I went from being king of the ring to being a little bitch!!! No one can believe how much size i lost. its like someone sucked the air out of me!!! as if i am some type of aids victim....

the 3 months that i took off of the gym was the worse... My back was killing me. I gave up on lifting. no protein shakes.. no diet... drinking heavily to calm my anxiety from feeling so small. was horrible.

been back at it for 2.5 months right now and i put on 15 pounds and maybe only 1 pound of fat... (no pic because i cant bare to look at myself... even after putting on 15 pounds i still cannot bare to see myself in photo..)
