What's your home defense weapon

I've been in a similar situation lol...I thought it was a bit cute after all was said and done...Pencil neck jumps out with a real bat to defend his skinny friend...I just rush him and take it away lol...end of story.;)

I wouldn't mind picking up another 12 guage though...I want the best one.:headbang:

Hey, how did you get that CCW anyways? I don't think I qualify at all...At least not yet...
Well ya cant have any sort of record at all. Cant be on any psycho meds. They print ya ya fill out some forms and gtg. Ya get a laminated card good for 5 years and must carry it and it actually used for a form of ID as well. Got your finger print on it height weight hair color etc. But i varies by which state ya live in and where I am it is reciprical with 6 states so when I travel no issues. The bat thing...funny same story. I was like "this guy gotta be kidding!"

Yeah, I don't think my state is going to look kindly on me for a ccw anytime soon lol. I'm not going to kill anyone unless in self-defense but lets just say they think I'm violent.

A bat makes me laugh like...what are you going to do with that besides make me get to you quicker.;)

Thanks for the insight though bruther! I've been running against the law for a decade I guess.:) I'll keep the my firearms at home and my whits with me on the road...It feels better to hit a jaw clean like when you hit a home run with a base ball bat anyways lol.

louisville slugger... im the youngest in my house

Only time I would garnish my weapon (gun!) if my children were at risk, if someone else pulls one or pulls a blade. Knives scare me. But Im always prepared. I gotta protect my little girls at all costs. Never seconds away from fire power. But I would rather use my fists if push comes to shove. Especially against a brave drunk. But of course always try and diffuse the situation. Im 42 had a weapon since 18 (legal in Fla at the time) never had to pull or use. Only at range. Here in Ga everyone and their mama has a gun so it sorta negates violence (up for debate). Here in the south they are much more liberal with guns. You can carry in airport! Can ya believe that? just not past metal detectors. Only state in the U.S.- I think that is nuts. But it is a new law.

i live in montreal, Quebec, you cant defend yourself because you will be in big trouble if you hurt a thief trying to steale your house (stupid people) a police officer told me that and then he said if you are in trouble call 911 and police will come in no longer than 10 to 15 min, can you imagine that???
plus licences are very hard to get it takes around a year to get a pistol licsence and 2-3 month for a rifle, so for the moment my house is gun free, prtection free olso lol

You must be in prison lol:p:D Sorry BMJ, not funny if you are...

wow!!.......makes my mossburg sound like a squirt gun:(

I thought BMJ was just goofing.

I have original Black Talon ammo in 9mm, 357, 40 and 45. I bet that would ruin someones plans.

And our son has a new nerf Tommy Gun from Santa that appears to be very accurate. But a bit too far over in the non-lethal spectrum. Merry Christmas.

Heh heh heh:D

Yeah, I was just joking:cool:

I don't have the fire power of everybody else here, that is for sure. But, I want one of those guns that Terry Crews had in The Expendables!!!

BMJ

I lkie my Kel-Tec p-11 9mm
And, yes I have kids, a big plus to the p-11 is the draw, takes some oomh to pull it. I also twach my kids gun safety and have a quick release safe for it.

No kids in the in the house and there are more firearms than I care to list online. On top of my nightstand when I'm asleep is my Glock 27 with a Lasermax guiderod red laser and an extended magazine.Just the ticket for lowlight/low life intruders....

When I'm awake and wandering around the house I usually have a Keltec P11 9mm on me (clipdraw) and when I leave the house my everyday carry is a Para Ordnance Warthawg .45 .

This thread wouldn't be complete without a little gun porn, so here's a shot of my Warthawg :) (Parkerized slide, XS BigDots, Wolf magazine springs, and Hogue grips. I carry it in a Crossbreed Supertuck.)

Sexy. That bitch is sexy.

My home defense weapon is a Glock 21 with a Surefire light on it. Home ammo is all Glaser prefrag ammo , duty ammo is 185gr Cor-bon.

A weapon is only as effective as the person using it and unless your highly trained in building clearing then i would not recomend going looking for trouble with anything much longer than your hand.

I have alot of toys ranging from a full auto MP-5 , 10.5" AR-15 and a 14.5" Full auto AR as well as a 14" barreled Rem 870 shotgun and a host of other rifles and pistols and have been through alot of schools to use each one and the pistol is first one i grap is a close quarters situation.

First line of defense , home alarm
second line , good barking dog
third , handgun

This is the truth. As to the guy in the military... There rules of engagement are very different from those here. There is no suppressive fire. I've also yet to see a military guy shoot better than me. I train LE. I can group the size of a fist with my Glock 22 at 75ft 15 rounds in 20 seconds. My main reason for the high velocity weapons are the increasing use of vests by criminals. Guns are highly sought items by criminals, so the weapons you buy to protect yourself may be the very reason your residence is targeted. All my weapons are in a safe bolted to the floor unless the are with me.

I was waiting for your input. I just read the best plan for defense in a home invasion is for everyone to gather in one room. Have a cell phone for 911 if the power is cut. Shut the door and get behind some protection, and announce you are armed.

Don't ever go searching your house unless you are looking for a loved one. Even the best trained SWAT teams are at risk entering rooms and going around corners.

Do you advocate handguns as the gun of choice for non professionals?

Kel-tec sub 2000.......9mm carbine

i have my son part time. he will be 13 in february. he has gone to the range with me and knows gun safety well.

I lkie my Kel-Tec p-11 9mm

I'm just wondering what you guys think of the Kel Tec guns as far as quality and being dependable? I see them in my area for incredible prices but most of the salesman always try to push the more expensive brands like Glock, S&W.

That is correct , if at all possible baricade yourself in a room and call for help , anounce that you are armed and that the cops are comming. If you must move through the house to find and secure a loved one do it quickly and have a plan.
Door ways are refered to as vertical coffens with alot of folks in the tactical community , their are certain ways that they must be negotiated in order to ensure your survial as well as corners and its nothing like you see on TV

i really like my sub 2000, it is fun to shoot and surprisingly accurate but i do get an occaisional jam during ejection. this would suck in a defense situation and when funds permit i will be getting a pump action shotgun for my home defense weapon of choice.

Kel-tek makes good firearms. For the price they are hard to beat, and they are size effective as well

My Keltec P11 didn't cost much, shoots straight, and goes bang every time I pull the trigger. Another plus is it's small size/weight.

The trigger pull is nasty, long, not smooth at all and it takes a while to get used to. The last time I put 300 rounds thru it at the range my trigger finger was NOT happy.

It's not a fun range gun but in my opinion it's just fine for what it was designed for: self-defense.
