I have always been convinced for years that a post workout shake or protein drink was necessary to be quickly absorbed. However, I have always had problems with whey protein drinks. I seem to get very poor absorption and got lots of gas every time I use whey protein drinks and shakes. I've been trying to find something that worked better for me.
However, the idea of simply sticking to good old chicken and brown rice seems odd for post workout. Wouldn't digestion slow things down too far for that immediate post workout "window"?
And Boa, why no shakes at all any more? Can you explain that?
