What do you all use PWO only for your protien. Using a straight isolate everytime time seems like its so expensive but if it really makes that big of a diff then maybe its worth it. I've always used a whey like champion or ON,etc..
 
i am currently using chicken of the sea tuna sprinkled with dry roasted peanuts and wash it down with grape juice. an over-reliance on protein shakes because i thought i needed them really halted my progress in my earlier years looking back. at this point i would rather miss a meal than drink a shake.
 
Since starting with Phil, I haven't had a shake. I do not miss them!
 
I'm using isolate pwo, but my other meals are now all solid, unless an emergency then I have a shake as a last resort.
 
I usually get my protein from DC,concentrate its much cheaper than iso...skim milk & natty pb with a lil ice blended and they taste great as im sure you all know.....
 
I do brown rice and chicken PWO. Once in awhile i do egg whites and some brown rice. I used to do a shake PWO but I feel and look better since I've dropped the shake for solid meals.

I have always been convinced for years that a post workout shake or protein drink was necessary to be quickly absorbed. However, I have always had problems with whey protein drinks. I seem to get very poor absorption and got lots of gas every time I use whey protein drinks and shakes. I've been trying to find something that worked better for me.

However, the idea of simply sticking to good old chicken and brown rice seems odd for post workout. Wouldn't digestion slow things down too far for that immediate post workout "window"?

And Boa, why no shakes at all any more? Can you explain that?
 
Since chatting with Phil I only drink LBA's throughout the day (5 drinks) and my PWO consist of 1/3 cup LBA's, 1/3 cup liquid eqq whites, 1/4 tsp vanilla extract with 10oz fat free milk.

I like WHEY ISOLATE best personally.
 
Its really depends on my appetite, but I usually drink a wpi shake or have my grits and egg whites. I can't really tell a difference in recovery either way.
 
I see many of you use milk pwo. Isnt that very slow absorbing? Wouldnt you prefer that at other times of the day?


I do like using lba's pwo as well. I used to take in about 60g whey but now I have a few tbsps of lba's and get about 40g whey.

I like Synthepure in 16 ounces of orange juice. yummy!

i dont take any shakes, cause i am not allowed :( . And if i do, i get the CAPS....so i just dont take them :D And i really dont miss them.
I drink LBA's during the day, and usually my third drink is during my workouts. So i take them during the workout. After the workout, due to intensive training and cardio, i am so hungry that i eat a regular meal. nothing fancy.

You have no shakes becouse the brown rice (which is a very good idea) if you eat the chicken and the rice immediately (15 to 30 min ) after the workout you will have the window. Protein has nothing to do with shakes, is the carbohydrates.

Very good first paragraph, if everyone was as concerned about every meal as they are with post workout there wouldnt be a problem
