The fact that people can see the hard work we have invested in the gym is like wearing a badge of honour. Our bodies are the only thing we truly own and I enjoy keeping myself strong and healthy.
It has given me the perseverance needed to notice stagnate things in my life, and the will/drive to improve them.
Because of it, I am now back in college and working towards a better career. I am constantly working at improving my relationship with significant other as well as siblings and parents. You will never be perfect but can always work to get as close to it as possible.
Few years pass since HS, bad self esteem, getting fat. Went on Atkins, started working out, I saw results, I got noticed and 9 years later I'm bigger, stronger and better looking then in HS.
Recently moved to Orlando, met some good BB'ers who are pro and they've helped me a lot too. Maybe one of these days I'll compete.
I think Arnold said it best, "The greatest feeling you can get in the gym or the most satisfying feeling you can get in the gym is... the pump. Let's say you train your biceps, blood is rushing into your muscles and that's what we call the pump."
"Your muscles get a really tight feeling like your skin is going to explode any minute and it's really tight it's like somebody blowing air into...into your muscle. It's just blows up and it feels different. It feels fantastic."
"It's as satisfying to me as a coming is, you know as a having sex with a woman and coming. And so can you believe how much I am in heaven? I am like getting the feeling of coming in the gym, I'm getting the feeling of coming at home, I'm getting the feeling of coming backstage when I pump up, when I pose out in front of five thousand people I get the same feeling. So, I'm coming day and night! I mean, it's terrific, right? Uh huh uh, so you know I am in heaven."
