Well I'm 50 now and at 260 I pulled 690 this week, benched 405x3 and squatted 605x4 all Raw. I know I still got a way's to go fella's and I know there is a lot of strong boys out there but I'm just competing against myself. It feels soooo good to be able to lift. I thank God for this.

Each their own path man.
I cut singles at 40....damn I do nothing less then 10 rep besides deads, which my cut off is around 6 reps.

For me-
Stay lean
Stay injury free
And don't blow my heart up :) cardio and more of that horrible shit :(

Sounds like bodybuilding/looking good is your thing not power lifting. Same as me, and for us singles have no place imo. Im guessing with the ops user name that power lifting is his love.

Edit. Just noticed is the power lifting forum so yea, that explains it. Even though I have no interest in being a power lifter I love watching them guys move them crazy weights. Very impressive

In case you get tired, you should concern about oregano. With vitamins B and some organic compounds in its content, one of top oregano health benefits is to enhance your metabolism.
If you are constantly tired, or struggle with your energy levels through the day, a few ancient herbal formulas can help you achieve the balance you never thought possible.
This, in turn, helps to energize and rejuvenate the body by maximizing the circulation. Oregano is also rich in iron which is important for the production of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin will carry more oxygen to every cell and muscle, making you more energetic and stronger. Especially when used in oil of oregano, this herb is an excellent for detox and vitality. Add a twice daily dose of oil of oregano (1-2 drops in 8oz of water–for a bonus healing infusion, add two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to the water for its healthy bacteria and its reputation for internal healing and detoxifying). Oil of oregano also has extremely high levels of antioxidants which help protect the body from chronic conditions. It boosts the immune system, aids in digestion (good digestion=higher energy as more nutrients are absorbed), and helps rid the body of parasites (yet another potentially hidden cause of chronic fatigue).

You can see banana is the fruit that can help you. Compared with many foods, bananas are relatively low in calories, but they are rich in antioxidants and healthy carbohydrates, which break down into blood sugar for fuel. Bananas happen to be low in fiber and are easily digestible, which means their sugar enters your body quickly for a rapid energy boost. Many athletics using banana as the energy booster.
There are many fruits and vegetables that help you to change the diet in to more various one. You can see more in this link:https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/Internet/F...1p2_023109.pdf

Buddy I powerlift and those numbers a solid for any age. The fact that you are 50 makes them so much better. That deadlift and squat are awesome. Just remember to give yourself adequate rest to recover. That is one of the biggest things I see with fellows as they get older. Not enough rest with big numbers like those can lead to injure.

You should also look into mobility work. Making sure you have proper range of motion in all your joints. I always reccomend a book called "becoming a supple leopard" by Kelly Starrett
It has so much useful information in it I don't even know how to start describing it. It cost a little money but your body will thank you for following its guidance

Kelly Starrett also has many youtube videos under the name mobilityWOD. Definitely my go to source for mobility and dealing with little injuries.
