so my take is

i should not use the 25g 5/8 for the glutes cuz no penetration at all
but shoulders would be ok for the oil based
or i would still at least need to go at least 1 inch

If you're 10% or less then 25gaX1 will work for everything,,,keeps it nice and simple to. 20ga to draw with. 25ga= less scar tissue....

I draw with a larger gauge needle say a 22g and then I replace with a 25g...I have both 1" and 1.5". I refuse to use anything bigger than a 25 anymore.

I use 20g to draw and 27 to pin takes a damn long time to force 3mg of oil out of a 27g pin but it seems to leave me with less soreness later than using a 25 and going a little faster.
