I haven't been able to train abs properly for months due to extreme cramping. Sometimes my calves cramp up upon rising in the AM too; but the abs are devastating.
I am well hydrated, eat a banana with my morning oatmeal, have sea-salt on some of my meals.
I am only on medium dose test E (500mg) and ATD/proviron. Recently 30iu GH a week, but that isn't a factor.

I have even added large doses (4-5g) of taurine to my shakes, but to no avail.
What else should I be looking at?

I hate to sound stupid here and not be able to suggest a good supplement to buy to help your problem but i do know one way to rid your self of those fucking annoying ab cramps... legs ect...
Pickle Juice - yes the shit that is left in the pickle jar after you eat the pickles. Pro football teams keep it on the sidelines in the summer to stop cramping. It has 10,000 time the shit powerade has in it to avoid cramps.
I was cramping very bad from all the sweating from dieting, cardio and shit loads of tren.... finally drank some pickle juice and wahla... gone in 5 minutes.
Now i drink about 2 ounces a day to keep from getting them.

Wow seriously? what's exactly in this juice that stops the cramps? I have the same problem but it happens during my ab training as I walk off the floor holding my stomach in pain. I haven't trained my abs in the past, but now that I'm more serious, I can't even get up to 50 crunches without excruciating pain. Would this trick work for that?

Are you running any Clen in your cycle? Whenever I run clen, that happens to me. The cramps are brutal. I will remember the Pickle Juice trick though, I will give that a try.

is it the juice from sweet pickles or dill pickles or does it matter?

Man i dont have a clue if sweet pickle juice works the same. I only use/used the regular dill pickle juice. I actually like drinking pickle juice anyway and would usually drink it after the jar was empty.
So... i cant answer that question.... maybe google it.

Also apple cider vineger works well for cramp to. That explains why pickle juice works because pickles are made with vinger.

Okay, I don't want to sound like doubter, but I'm wondering what mechanism vinegar has to fight muscle cramps with?

I mean, are the cramps caused by excess alkalinity?

That's about the only thing I can think of that would explain why vinegar might defeat cramps, but then vitamin C or a glass of grapefruit juice should do the same thing, if it's only about fighting alkalinity.

The thing is, muscles produce lactic acid, so I would have thought that if the cramps are caused by muscular alkalinity, then the lactic acid should be effective at fighting the cramps because its produced right inside the muscle.

Maybe the lactic acid is stron enough to cause pain, but not strong enough to ballance the alkalinity that supposedly causes cramps?

Anyone got better details or a stronger argument or better insight?

I have pretty strong insight.... when i cramp really bad, i drink pickle juice. The cramps always stop almost immediately. Im no scientist but why question the "why" it works... just be glad it does.
 
This is a very late reply, but from what I've read on a Google search today, there seems to be the hypothesis that the sodium in the juice is what does the trick. They could be wrong, maybe it is the vinegar content.



Ever since I last posted in this thread I wanted to come back & see what has been added, but I've been distracted with other stuff. Then I found this cramp related thread yesterday:

That reminded me to look into the matter again & if that wasn't enough I had a bastard of a leg cramp in the thigh of my left leg upon waking up this morning. All I did was pull my foot up toward my ass (lying face up) & suddenly it grabbed me like an angry pitbull.

I think trying a simple & somewhat scientific test of trying some pickling salt in a glass of water to cure a cramp might help indicate the effective factor. Of course, if the cramps persist longer than 15-20 minutes after the salt dose, then a 2 oz. shot of vinegar may prove effective.
 
Pedialite or its generic equivalent ha always worked for me. I go with the generic(wal mart) as it has less dextrose in it. Plus, its delicious:p
 
i notice if I stay hydrated and have one or two pickles every day they don't happen as often...but if I stop trainng the abs for a while and start again, I get the painful cramps the first few sessions.
so it could be a bunch of things. I think the salt and the vinigar help, but also make sure you drinks a shit load of water if your protein intake is high...and it should be....I get dehydrated to bad if I am taking in at least 100g of protein per day....Iwake up with hang-over like feelings.
