Charles Poliquin used to recommend a heavy explosive set of cleans or squats a few minutes before a sprint event. I remember trying to do that at a track meet and almost missing my heat, lol. Don't think that drama helped.

Haha! Been playing around with “light” banded plyometric warm ups before heavy lifts/sprint sessions and it seems to have stimulators affects on muscle patterning/recruitment
But an actual weighted few sets…. Yea my performance is just dropping by 10% nearly instantly

I've never heard of Fergus Crawley but saw this on Generation Iron and though the board would like it. I know I certainly couldn't do this and I doubt many here could aside from @Performance Based.
That’s pretty true..I think it’s more common on the navy side of sof to be honest..where I was at in the army there was a big group just involved in rucking and running..we had some lifters (I was one) but the culture of fitness was definitely different between branches when I was in
I know a few guys that have been through here at NSWG-4 at Stennis and a few of the SWCC guys with SBU-22 that could do this pretty consistent. A good friend of mine that recently retired up there did it even after a few knee surgeries but he's a freak and his wife runs the cross fit half of their gym.
We have some Marine Recon guys that come and train on our site in New Orleans , after talking with them a bit it seems like they are all more cardio focused.
