As of yesterday it will be 20 weeks until my first show. I have already been dieting for the last few months to just get in respectable shape then depending on my prep coach have a short little offseaon type break then go into a 16 week type prep for the show. I can't wait to get started these next few months I hope to be some of the most prodcutive months of my life. I read all of the other board members prep threads and feel so excited for them and now to see JT's thread gives me even more motivation. I feel that the people I am working with are some of the best in the business and will bring me in on point.
Question that I have for you guys is trainning. I beleive I have made some good progress and working out with the person I have been able to workout with once a week in the last few weeks has really given me an insight of how much more I need to bring up my trainning intensity and how LAZY and COMPLACENT my trainning has become. So I have adopted a more basic is better approach to trainning with progression being the key in basic compound movemts. Example come into the gym 3x a week just due to work etc hit my main compound movement squat deads incline then do a superset or two and call it a day. An example of a leg routine I did last week looks like this
Lunges 2 sets to warm up
Squats - didn't even count sets just pushed every set to failure then ended with a widowmaker type set for twenty(this is a movement that I really need to push myself on. I have made it a goal to be repping out with 315 by the end of august)
adductors super set with lying leg curls 2 sets
leg press super set with hack squat 2 sets
Then puke and go eat some sushi
What do you guys think of this?
Hope everyones prep goes well. Even though I don't post alot on this board it is filled with people who help motivate and push others to progress. We need more and more people like the ones on here to help this sport progress.
