Well for a 200lb individual, that would come out to about 450g of protein, and 550g of carbs per day.
That is 4000 calories a day without taking into account your fat. Personally, I think it's kind of high, but everybody is different.
 
i once told a doctor i eat 1.5 grams of protein per lb of body weight and he said that the human body can only absorb 30g of protein a day and the rest is wasted?

why would he lie to me?
 
VERY high and for most people highly likely for some portion of all this protein to intraconvert in the liver to fat.
 
well you see this is the type of thing that dante runs into, Aurthor did not intend for this to be geared toward anyone but BEASTS, so if your a newbie or a guy that hasn't built a shitload of muscle on your frame then you shouldn't even be reading the book IMHO. Same thing with people thinking that dante a long time ago when he first started telling his secrets everyone thought that just anyone could go and apply these things he was saying.

and i believe i read in that book that 1.8 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight, thats what aurthor recomends.

I know I've said it before but I'll say it again. It doesn't matter how much protein you consume but rather how much you absorb and that is what so many guys don't understand or they do but they don't take the time to ensure that their bodies are primed for good digestion. Anything that goes through the body without propper digestion is a waste IMO.

I agree. Since working with Phil, I have cut out the use of all my powders, and cut my protein to his recomendations which is considerably less, but I am getting stronger.

It's all about the sources of protein that you use.
 
450g thats over 164kg a year of protein. I think just a little bit would be wasted:D .
 
I don't think it's ok for a starter who hasn't built a strong base and whose body is not used to high proteins/carb consumption
 
Thtas an advanced book. If you don't plan to try and go Pro I wouldn't recommend trying some of the things in there.


There is a DNP/Insulin Cycle in there. Let some Newbie try that. Even omeone experienced for that matter.:eek:

The protein is good if you're using the 4 for ever 2 pounds, which is essentially 4 grams per kilo. So a 200 pound guy would get about 360 grams of protein. 5 grams per kilo is too high.

I think the carbs are fine. 500 grams of carbs sound right to me if you want to maintain the muscle you already have, as it will have a protein sparing effect.

4 grams is good, 5 is too much???

Probably not intentionally. By and large, Dr's as a rule, know very little about nutrition. Their education is geared toward treating symptoms. To make a statement that anything more than 30gr is a waste is a bit short sighted and does not take into account the activity level or stress level of the individual, quality of the protein, or the weight of the individual involved. Assuming the quality of protein is sufficient, I feel that .75 to 1 per pound of bw should be fine. Just my opinion.
