Both of them have no fat or sodium and between 25-30 grams of carbs with no sugars and 4-5 grams of protein per serving which is 3 tablespoons or 1/4 cup. Thanks and happy holidays.
From the GI website Xcel has referred to....Corn meal had a GI of 68 and corn grits a GI of 75...might be best to just eat regular corn kernels frozen, unsweetened? you get fiber and most likely lower GI (keep in mind its this new GI Load that is more important than GI).
the cream of rice and wheat i have in my cupboard for the last decade, doesnt seem to have any fiber so i just stick to oatmeal when it comes to my second postworkout meal or carb up
When I was in feelnfit's city visiting, none of the restaurants had oatmeal - only grits. It must be the popular mainstream breakfast cereal in the south - that's my analogy.
we are raised on grits down here. yet i did not have my first bowl till i was about 16. my mom did not like grits so we did have oatmeal instead. most of the traditional resturants have grits also because thats what people from up north expect to have coming to the south.
excel next time u come down i will take u to a good southern place to eat and u can have all the grits and counrty ham, and homemade biscuitts u want. oh grits are good fried too.
i am getting hungry now.
