Arimidex With Nolvadex?

Can these two items be safely and succesfully combined? On the Arimidex home page it states that one should not use Arimidex while under going tamoxifen (Nolvadex) therapy.

You can use these together but there are only certain circumstances where this would be necessary. Co-administration of anastrozole and tamoxifen does reduce the AUC of anastrozole by 27%, but this was not a clinically significant reduction in plasma levels and does not affect aromatase inhibition.

The only times I could see having to use them together is if you start getting some gyno symptoms, or during PCT perhaps. Also, if you are an advocate of shooting big doses of HCG (5,000 IU +), then the tamoxifen can help protect your Leydig cells from permenant suppression and help prevent primary hypogonadism.

I found arimidex not to do anything for gyno, only estrogen induced bloat.
I was using 1mg Arimidex per day Mon to Fri, and then 20mg/day of nolva Sat and Sun.
That kept the gyno under control and also the bloat.

Of course, now I only use Femara as it does both jobs sensationally well.

Both Arimidex and Femara are very powerful aromatase inhibitors. If used proactively, they should prevent Gyno just about equally as well.

They both have half lives of about 2 days, so even taking a 2 day break over the weekend, your blood levels are still plenty high to fully suppress the conversion of androstenedione to estrone.

I would only use the Nolvadex if you start to get some early gyno symptoms. Hit it hard with Nolvadex, and keep running the aromatase inhibitor. I guess it depends on your dose and aromatizing androgens and your estrogen receptor sensitivity, but developing gyno while using a aromatase inhibitor properly should be rare.
