BB rows form

Yes...

problem with doing it parrallel while supported , even on a high bench , is that I get choked befofore I fail with the lift....

haha... I know what you mean- my old gym years ago had an adjustable height bench and I would try it on that... same thing, I would almost feel "choked".... do you have a low back problem?

yes. on the lower left side. fell once doing heavy squat with spotters that were "asleep".
I can still lift heavy as long as it restricted linear movment , like smith squats...

bent over at about 45 degrees, kness bent slightly, back arched to keep it strong and tight, fairly wide overhand grip, pull up to my bellbutton

never had any injury doing this way

I watched Dorian video online and he reccommends using a more narrow grip because it gives you a slightly more natural feel and more ROM. I tried it that way and now I feel as if this is a better way. I used to go wider too. Bentover rows are the best movement for back IMO.

well when i saw wide i dont mean really wide, i meant wider than the grip one would use for underhand rows. i should have been more specific.

i grab with width where my forearms are perpendicular to the floor. so if someone were watching me from the from the front or back my forearms would be 90 degrees with the floor during my entire set. this keeps the bicep out as much as possible - after all the focus is my back!!!

Yeah, thats about where I go. I end up gripping it where part of my hand is on the smooth part in the middle of the bar.

is that video of phil doing them correct? i read in another thread (search) where i think he said that is a rear delt exercise.

Amen maldorf. This is how I have been doing bent over rows. Honestly, this movement took me a good 4 or 5 months to get the right feel for it. Im short as all get out at 5'5 with short arms, so I don't have to move the bar too far. The only thing I have adjusted with my rows was to keep my head on an even plane with my back. Meaning I don't arch my neck upwards.
