I know that we have rules on this board but they just don't seem to be working. I have a suggestion that anyone who starts a thread along the lines of what's the best cycle for ... just be banned. Once I see a thread like this I know two things for sure, first this person has little to nothing that they can add to the board and second that they will never be successful in this sport. I just can't help but get pissed when I read these threads because it proves that not only is the majority of the general public naive about what it takes to be a top level bodybuilder but so are a lot of athletes.

If you find yourself tempted to ask a question along the lines of what is the best cycle to get huge. Drive directly to Costco and don't leave until you have purchased at least $200.00 in quality proteins, fats, and carbs. At that point understand that you should be back making another $200.00 purchase in six to seven days if you TRULY want to grow.

man, i see ur point but damn you have to start somewhere.

i think it has less to do w what ur initial ignorant newb questions are and more to do w how you respond to the criticisms u will recieve after u ask.

alot of guys have that question but then are told to read the rules, respect the board and get serious about researchin the topic in question,some will, others wont. if they dont ban them then.

not to mention this board isnt only about ur ability to contribute verbally but also financially. its a business.

Anyone who doesn't know where to start can't read. There is a book called Anabolics 2009 which will cover MUCH more than you will ever need to know. As far as the business i think the sponsors speak for themselves and where the money comes from.

There is so much experience and muscle on this board that if people spend miore time learning about how the best athletes here achived there results through diet, training, etc.. you will have more info than you could imagine.

Read any of b-boy's post. He is easily one of the most impressive athletes on this board and I have yet to see him give "the secret" cycle. That being said he has taught and re taught what it took him to reach his level. These are the reasons I respect him soooo much and why he is a champion.

I just wanted to add Dusty, long time ago, when I started, there wasn't computors or internet for me to ask these questions. I thought the same, when I started, taking gear was the answer. Big mistake, when I learned about better training and diet, that is when I truelly suceeded.

i definitely agree. I think that a lot of people are looking for a 'magic mix'. When i was younger i sought it also and took higher than needed doseages and really wasted time, money and possible side effects. Nowadays, i have found my magic mix and it is consistent training, diet, and rest. I am almost as big as i used to be and do not rely on super-supplements. If i do take them, they are just the icing on the cake these days.

I agree completely. Anyone who asks this question is needing basic AAS knowledge not some custom cycle. This advice can be found ANYWHERE on the net. There are so many sites that have beginner cycles listed and its very easily accessible. I love this idea. There are also tons of old threads on this board of good cycles. Also, everyone wants some super custom cycle with 5 compounds to make magical gains. Test is really all thats need to bulk, cut, strength, etc for beginners. People need to realize this. Good thread

Well stated Dusty...this board is a funnel of great information with regards to bodybuilding knowledge. Read it, understand it, and ask questions that matter with regards to training, nutrition, recovery, motivation, ideas etc...the other stuff just gets over complicated/immature at times as well.

It is better to get flamed for the right question than a stupid AAS related question!

Seriously... good post Dusty. I think with B-Boy's (and others) threads here recently the board is taking a new direction.
 
get out of my head dusty and stop stealing my thoughts :p man i have thought the same thing to myself but i just ignore and keep typing..LOL it needed to be said though bigtime!

anyone new coming to this board just honestly needs to learn how to use the search button. So many questions have been asked throughout the years on this board that i guarntee you just about any question you want to ask you can find the answer usining the search function. yes it takes a while to dig and search but you are also learning cause you are sifting through threads and reading and learning. ;)

drugs! yes they are part of this sport, but like you dusty i just laugh at how complicated people try and make them sound. Honestly guys this whole sport is really basic kindergarden shit. Disapline is the magic potion in this sport not some drug. Nutrition is what sets the men apart from the boyz, people in my area are probably tired of hearing me say that but its the freakin truth.

no question is a stupid question but at least do some leg work and use the search button then if you want to expand your knowledge or didn't understand what you found and read then post up your question

when i first decided to try super supps i had been working out all of 2 months and i thought it was all about drugs at the time. luckily, i found this board and posts from members like dad and others made me realize how ignorant my preconceived notions of the sport were and decided to not do any supps for a while and educate myself first. i still used early in my training (about a year and 25 lbs later) but bc members took the time to point out my own ignorance to me i realized how much more effort i needed to put in physically and mentally first. i am very grateful for that.

at the same, its not the boards obligation to babysit grown men and there is a reason its called professional muscle.

Yikes (up in bold) are you kidding me? Man I trained 7-8 years clean and still was scared as all hell at the point I felt I needed to try things out. Where is the natural progression of creatine, beta alanine, then maybe 6-oxo, then maybe over the counter pro-hormones, and then lastly (after many years and a very solid foundation) anabolics?

My opinion: you just put a serious short circuit on your upper end potential as a bodybuilder.

IMO there is a big difference between someone going from 160 to 230 natural over many years and then using (he ends up a big MF at about 275)

than someone who goes 160, jumps on the sauce within months to a year....he usually ends up far short of 275....far short....like very far short

I am shaking my head over here on your decisions you made in the best years of natural lifting you would of ever had.

You will never know now where you would of ended up at the top end of the scale now that you didnt build a very good solid natural base.

I agree with everything you said but he can still get to 275 but the difference will be the insane amount of drugs that it will take in the future now to get him there and the risk to health that will be needed later on down the road to achieve that 275. thats the sad part :(

dante everyones come back to your arguement will be some genetically gifted pro that started early with AAS, stupid yes but that is always their rationalization of the situation. Like you I have heard so many times before on various boards.

As far as the genetically gifted pros, do you think they also short circuited themselves and never reached their true potential due to starting too early? Guys like Priest, Wheeler, Haney, Gaspari, Yates, Arnold and etc (too many to mention)? Would Arnold have ultimately been a better bodybuilder had he started juicing at the age he retired from the stage. A highly theoretical question I know. :)

My thought is that if you have potential to be a monster you'll be a monster even if you didn't have much of a base. If you don't have much potential you can't create it by years and years of beating your body to the ground before starting. The upper limit with anabolics probably doesn't change much depending on when you start. Scientifically I don't see it. Now, longevity and health is a factor to consider BUT it might go the other way as well: think guys like Haney and Arnold. They were retired by a very young age. Would they have been better bodybuilders and healthier today had they started juicing at the age they retired from bodybuilding (before 30)? I'm not so sure.
 
I would think most pro bodybuilders would be gaining so fast naturally that they wouldnt think they needed juice for at least their first 2 years of lifting or until they got to a point that it was directly neccessary.

Its not a question i know a definite answer too but Coleman waited a pretty long time and ended up the only sub six footer ever to compete at over 300 pounds.

I think a pro who is determined and dedicated is going to be a pro any way you slice it whether he starts juicing on his first day or 6 years later.

Top end development though......look at some of the guys who waited and built something that was pretty worthy and then turned into something outworldly after they started juicing

(Coleman, Kai Greene for example are two that waited a long time and then took off into a stratosphere when they hit the gas)
