Anybody use a bench or box or something when you're doing squats . I've been making really good gains on my legs doing these. It helps me to know that I'm going full parallel . Should I remove the bench and go below parallel sometimes? Please discuss how you squat and why . Thanks !

I do them to just below parallel quite a bit. I just go down until i touch, but never let the weight press down and compact my spine. Too many people make the mistake of sitting all the way down and placing that pressure along the spine.

I sometimes use a bench if I don't have a spotter so I know if I'm going at least to parallel. Also it allows me to slow my reps down and get better contraction and focus on my quads. I go down to I just touch the bench then explode up. I don't want to sit on it as all the weight can put a lot of pressure on the spine when in a seat position.

How does this look for a leg day(monday after work) ? I was sorta stagnated with squats ,( legs weren't even sore anymore ) , but then I added another leg day on thursday - mostly leg press , and then I started growing and feeling sore again ...

Squats
135 x 20
135x20
225x15
225x15
305 x8
305 x8
405x5 (parallel down to a bench )
425x5 " " " "
305x8

lying leg curls 5 sets , supersetted with leg extensions ( 5 sets )

i use just about every squat, front, overhead, olympic, box, zercher, speed squats... i believe it is important to be strong in all ranges of motion so i do mostly ass to grass squats but box squats are done onto a box powerlifting style
