my friend got bitten by a brown recluse spider and had to get a chunk of flesh cut out of his leg. he said it felt like a ant bite and it got much worse after a week. a little tiny spider can do this to a person, just shows how powerful their poison is.
|--[\\]>-------- I hope he just took the bandage off to take the pic..there is no way s'one can go around like that with it exposed like that?! man, that's gross
I was bitten by a black widow about 8 months ago in an ankel the venom spread up my leg and ate up some of my calf muscle. Now my left calf is bugger then my right one. I was on Anti-biotics for a month cause of that.

that's the nice thing about living in chicago, we don't have poisonous insects or snakes or alligators etc...we just deal with the cold for 4 months a year. I'll take the cold over losing the flesh off my thigh due to a spider...that's nasty
that pic is 1 month after he had surgery on it. the only tissue he lost was his outer skin and that thin layer of skin covering the muscle. that was taken over a year ago, and hes still recuperating.
I was bitten by a Fiddleback variety in the desert last year. He hit me on both calves. My MD was a pimp and dialed me in quickly on using antihistamines both topically and internally to keep it under control. It looks like your friend had the allergic reaction to it and that is scary. I ended up with about a 2 1/2 inch circle on each calf that turned as purple as it can be. Six months later you could still see it....
Wow, that is nasty.
Everytime I see a pic like that I get bad flashbacks to my abscess. My arm had a friggin hole in it, and you could see the diffrent layers of skin below the surface just like that. It still looks kind of messed up 1,5 year afterwards with some colour disfigureation and a nice scar to boot. Dirty gear is a nasty spider.
I remember seeing cases of Brown Recluse bites on the discovery channel. Some effects like the bleeding skin ulcers remain for years. You guy in the midwest should always shake out your towels, clothes, shoes and bedsheets before using.
That is sick bro. My wife is a registered nurse and does home health here in Nebraska and she took care of a lady that got bit on her back by a brown recluse. She said that the wound was not quite that bad. She went to the Dr. right away and he just gave her some antibiotics and said this will do. Stupid fucking doctor, now she has a scar on half of her back. My wife took care of her for over a month to help her change her dressing. Later, bigwil
It is good to go right away with a brown recluse only thing is that when they first bite ya you dont even know it sometimes. Only when the volcano starts to show do you really know then its almost to late it will have to be debreeded. My friend got bit in basic training in Ft Jackson SC let it go for about two weeks finally everyone just told on him so to say luckily for him save his arm. MM
Thats some serious shit, I got bit by one fo those in my forearm, while in Ranger School and the scrapped out the a chunk of skin the next day and about a 2 by 2 hole in my arm that would get packed daily. Your boy got it bad, he must not done anything about it for at least a week. That shit spreads fast. My best wishes go out to him, thats no joke!
The MF got me too, I did not know what it was, it was a dark circle inside a lighter colored blue one. I started hallucinating and thinking real weird strange things. I thought i had bumped something with my upper thigh but my GF kept saying "you better get help!"
She's grown around them in East TX. and I guess she knew.
Anthistamines and antibiotics and some suffering.
