Just curios, I had a nice 6 pack going 7 weeks into a test,eq,winny cycle. Then I switched protein powders(closeout on-line) 2 weeks later I have a gut!

Calorie surplus.

BTW, was it muscle milk? That will really pack it on it a bad way. :D

well muscle milk is basically a milk shake with protein in it.. is that the one you got? if not it could just be bloat.. some proteins do that. i highly recommend true protein isolate.. no bloat at all

you took the words right out of my mouth....avoid musclemilk

You should see the muscle milk rtds. They have salflower oil in it so you get 16 grams of fat, 7 of them being sat fat.

Yup it's the surplus in cals - and any type of macronutrient (fat, protein, carbs) can end up stored as fat.. Now you say you've been on cycle, and had a 6 pack right up until you switched protein powders? Your calorie intake must have gone up somehow.. Does the new powder contain more cals per serving?

i guarantee its bloat. whey is shit, imo but i have to admit, super duper hyper isolates would be marginally better. either way, dairy protein is so far inferior to red meat or true protein's new beef powders it's sick. people can barely digest lactose as it is, if they're lucky. and it gets worse with age.

think about it.. why would hunters/gatherers think to molest a flesh providing animal in such a way as the milk shoots out of their udders, and then think to drink this milk for sustenance. i mean it's not really like a coconut. the end goal is pretty sick if you think about it. either way, no mammal's digestive system was meant to digest another species' milk. it makes them sick, usually

Muscle Milk is loaded with fat and sugar. I recently started using MaxPro from my local Max Muscle store. 30 grams protein, less then one gram of sugar and 1 gram of fat. The strawberry tastes like nestle quik strawberry. It's the best protein I have tasted to date.

$50 for a 52 scoop jug.

Exactly bro. I switched to tp's beef iso and it is far superior. I don't get the stomach cramps like I used to from whey iso. It also keeps me fuller longer. Although bro, have you noticed how salty it tastes? :(

anything you eat can make you fat.
and if ite very calorie dens "high calorie" then better chance it will.

maybe your just bloated somtimes it may look like you got a gut but its bloat?

Maybe it is just bloat

especially if they dont contain whats on the label.ex they are cut or extended with dextrose. As mentioned in another thread that is a real concern.

I have always seen this posted on boards, especially here, but can you please explain what LACTOSE is, and what it has to do with PROTEIN?
Can a person NOT digest 1-2 grams of lactose (if it's lactose) out of whey protein?
all you hear about why whey is bad is "inferior" to meat or whatever is "LACTOSE".... we weren't meant to digest lactose... but, a serving of mediocre whey protein with a shit ton of concentrates only has something like 2-3 grams of lactose...

Lactose is the sugar contained in milk.. And whey is milk that has been curdled and strained, and is a protein rich liquid which still contains lactose.

yes... but how much lactose? see, that's my point. If you are EXTREMELY lactose intolerent, ok... like if 1/4 glass of milk gives you an assplosion, ok. but 99% of the people out there aren't like that. and it's not the lactose. it's the fillers and additives or some other thing in there... this is why if you even try different flavors of the same kind of whey, you'd get different reactions.

If you can eat cookies, cakes, chocolates, and donuts without your ass exploding, you can certainly handle the lactose in whey... but you might not be able to handle other things in the mix

I just can`t get away from using Optimum Nutrition Pro Complex. It`s low in fat and pretty cheap on BB.com:)

Even a small amount of lactose can cause what you could consider an allergic reaction. Some are more sensitive than others of course. This will make it virtually impossible to digest it when your body is doing all it can to purge itself of it. Does not want.

When you consider how low the quality of milk protein is compared to the alternatives, I'd guess that some people really completely digest less than 10% of the whey they actually ingest. Just a wild guess but if it can send me to the throne in under ten minutes I know I didn't digest a whole lot of it.
