My friend has colitis and he has a sensitve stomach when it comes to protein shakes. Does anybody have a suggestion on a protein powder that may possibley not upset his stomach?

I have to deal with Crohn's, which is the close cousin of ulcerative colitis. Fortunately, I'm symptom-free at this point.

Anyhow, I don't have much trouble with whey. High quality stuff like synthepure doesn't give me trouble. Also I have had no problems with LBAs.

Some protein supplements actually have added iron - for ex Nutrex's - and this would be a bad idea for your friend, as iron increases inflammation in IBD.

On a tangent, some people w colitis have trouble with creatine.

high quality whey isolate or peptopro

we have a client controlling his crohns with low dose test treatment...about 100mg per week and its part of his HRT too, so best of both worlds

ive just gone over a year without a crohns flare but have had symtoms now for few weeks however hrt at 125 to 150 per week has helped me i think,im reluctntly about to start prednisolone but dont realy want to have lowered immune system in autum/winter how do you take pred for just a week or two? i thought that it was dangerous to stop so soon? would that be say 20mg for 10days and just stop as that sounds pretty good to me my doctor tends to make me start at 30 to 40mg per day and taper off 5mg per week which then makes for being stuck on the bloody stuff for at least couple months! sorry got a bit long post there, lol, anyway if this helps anyone ive found in the past that primo works well without affecting the crohns but at present id just be grateful if i could nip this flare in the bud guys.
