Congress to look at Ephedra/Pro Hormones

Driving to work, listening to sports talk radio, and on comes Congressman John Sweeny (R) New York touting his new bill to have congress regulate both Ephedra and pro hormones onto the controlled substances act, so that it would require a physican to prescribe.

Can anyone say "here we go again", hopefully the supplement industry can stand up for itself and stop this in its tracks

Some of his arguments on Ephedra are 80 to 100 deaths since 1993 and (I think) 1400 other hospitalizations - No not to minimize this but does anyone have a guess how many million pills are taken across the US every day!

Maybe it is time for a letter writing campaign because
Listening to him raised my BP more than my Labrada Charge and 41 mins on the bike this AM!!!!

Thats asshole Sweeney-from, of all places, NY where 9-11 disaster occurred. He is the on (and Osbourne from NB) who introduced the pro-hormone bill, now he is jumping on the anti-ephedra bandwagon. Get a life!
You think he'd concentrate his efforts toward 'real' problems. Id like to see how many people died from asprin last year.
