I've got about a year left till I have my 2 year degree...I figured its about time to start looking into something to keep going to school for, and get a masters, or a PhD.
Some things I'd like to do potentially:
*Teach (excerise related) such as nutrition
*Law Enforcer(state marshel or state trooper)
*Own a business of my own(this could be something small and part time and eventually grow to something large)[a gym or supplement line would be ideal, but I know that's not realistic because every other guy who bodybuilds wants to do the same thing]
PT on the side..I actually plan to do this next year when I go to a different school.
Military(I'd like to go in with a 4 or 6 year degree) and do something excerised related.

Basically, I want to help people and change lives, having a good paying job is also important because I want to provide for my family, and myself. I also want to enjoy my job, if it means i'l take a pay cut, so be it.
Sports medicane Dr is possible, but I'm kinda out of ideas..maybe even an athelete rehab specialest.

Anyone have any suggestions I could look into, if you need more info you can ask.

Physicians Assistant is not a bad job, and from there you could probably branch out into sports nutrition, etc., or just work as a PA for a Sports Nutrition Clinic or Doctor.

I'm honestly not even 100% what Sports Med Drs deal with..just athelets who're in need of help? lol
Thanks for the suggestion.

Undertaker, people always gonna be dyin...

get a cool million and buy a nursery about 45 miles away:D

suggestions

If you are interested in health care related careers (high demand, job security), consider:

The best possible job= Orthodontist!! If you have the academic ability/motivation/potential, you are looking at 400k NET per year. Surprisingly, it is also a very rewarding job. Dental pre-requisites, DAT, dental school, then Orthodontics.

- Obvious, a physician
- Physician assistant
- Pharmacist (big bucks, 40 hrs exactly, part-time is ~50k per year)
- Nurse, then Nurse-Practitioner
- Physical Therapist
- Radiology/MRI technician (uncertain about these positions)

These all require similar pre-requisites (pharmacy and medicine probably the most demanding); however, PT is strongly associated with athletic training.

Obtain as much education as possible or necessary, but don't become one of these "I have 12 different and unrelated degrees, certificates" folks. If it's nutrition, be persistent/committed and obtain a PhD. Educational debt WILL pay dividends in the future!!

Evaluate your academic strengths and weakenesses, identify interests, and begin exploring. You still have time...volunteer, externships, etc.

Physical therapy or Physical therapy Assistant. Both were ranked in two diff polls on AOL as one of the top 5 jobs in the country. I would not trade my job for anything

are you one of those two right now?

I have a friend who will be entering the final year in her doctoral program for PT. She does enjoy it, but it is very very academically challenging (anything at that level of education is). She got her undergraduate degree in Biology and went straight to grad school to persue the doctorate in PT. For somebody of her level of intelligence to say that it is challenging, it must certainly be. But if its something you truly enjoy, you'll stick it out and go through with the few years of hell for the pay-off in the end.

Yes, I am an assistant and own my own buisness. I work my butt off to be where I am at today. I would never go back to school now for my PT as heavy hands said it is a Phd now, very difficult and I would not make that much more money with it as I have been an assistant for 12 years now. The biggest plus would be job security and a ilttle more money.

I also do "post physical therapy exercise" on the side, where I follow a therapy client after they are through with therapy. I actually do just as good with this as I do as an assistant.

lol, I'm not the farmer type.

I have a good friend who is an Occupational Therapist. If you do it right, you can make decent $$, but it's a very rewarding gig for her. She get's to help a ton of people.

You're asking the right questions though bro, gotta commend you for that. When I was in college I worked on a wealthy guys farm, he was a dentist and owned several banks. I asked him kind of the same questions you're asking. He told me look if it's about money, you need to be a doctor of some sort, a lawyer, or you better sell something.

Could someone help me brain storm a carrier? Oh wait, you mean CAREER. Nothing that involves computer work for you. Seriously though I don't know how it is in Georgia, but in New York the cops are glorified baby sitters making 100k in 3-5 years. They typically break kids balls who drink at parks and give tresspassing tickets. This is on Long Island not in the city where they are paid like shit and get shot at the first day. Most of them have side work too, you can do your personal training on the side.

Submitting an essay and chatting on an online forum is different.
I think you ment trespassing. ;)

I think I've decided what I'm going to do, small steps at a time.
Get a 4 year bach. degree in science, and then see what I want to do in life, and possibley apply at a dental school.

So true Diesel. I love what I do. It is very rewarding to say the least. everyday I go home...well most days i go home i feel good about who I helped and what was accomplished.

Im from a long family chain of Physical Therapists and they make bank!! Im the only idiot in 4 generations that wanted to work in Law Enforcement (fish and game) because I like being outside on the water and in the woods.Well, they get paid crap.I ve got a 4 year in criminal justice and it collects dust. ... now Im a full time UPS driver, I make good $$ considering what I do/and DONT do lol.... I guess what I really meant to say was.. go into a job in healthcare, insurance pays and you get to help people... win win if you ask me.
