Bingo. Many people will tell you they flag your address but I'm not so sure about that. I have a feeling that's just a rumor. I don't think you need to worry about it showing up on a background check. There are so many different agencies in government and most of them have no communication with other agencies.
If I was to get my parcel stopped by customs and they flag my adress or whatever else they do afterward, would this hurt me in any way if I was going through a background check for a federal job?

Bingo.
Your address doesn't get flagged that is nonsense. People move all the time and people use addresses that don't belong to them. You think they are going to flag johnny smith that lives in an apartment for one year then moves? Use some common sense.
Wrong...There are people with large seizures that do not get flagged initially.
It is always best to use a rental mailbox and a company name to recieve in. The only way they can identify the reciever is to show up at the mailbox or at the post office and see the ID used to open the box. That does not happen much or if at all.
It is safe to assume that you get a pass on the first seizure as far as local followup unless it is a very large order. Whether large or small you will save yourself alot of anxiety by just closing the box by phone and reopening a new one down the street.
Now if you are one of these guys that thinks the family home is a good choice, just realize once flagged, you can just call and shut the house down.
You are at risk of a very permenant record.
