So my good buddy has an inflamed shoulder after administering .8 ml's of test e into his left deltoid (shoulder). He pinned in the right place (I saw the needle mark), aspirated, injected slowly, used aseptic technique and a new needle to inject with after he drew the test from the vial, and as far as I can tell did everything 100% right. I've done some searches on the board about this, and found that lots of people have had problems injecting into their deltoids, but I want to help my buddy out since he doesn't have health insurance and I'm the closest thing he's got to a medical plan. His signs and symptoms include: localized swelling around the injection site, pain, some firmness in/around the site, mild heat radiating from skin, but no discoloration (no redness aka "erythema"). He shot this stuff 2 days ago, and has been having these signs and symptoms for 2 days now (today and yesterday). Can anyone tell me the difference between an abscess and cellulitis, or whatever it is that they think my buddy might have? Thanks bros

If he gets cellulitis, it will be HOT to the touch. He will be achy, running a fever and feeling like he is gonna die=-) Thats after it has progressed fairly far. 9if this is staying constant and haas not worsened, take some advil for the stiffness and keep going. You can get keflex online as it is used in fish tanks for controlling the growth of algae in addition to being an antibiotic. I never reccommend treating one's self but if he is not going to the doctor, it is better to do something than nothing.

just my opinion.

sounds like what just happened to me. I pinned 1cc of eq in 1 shoulder and 1cc of test e in the other. 4 days after the pinning the test e shoulder swelled a little and started to hurt, like i worked the hell out of it. Its been like 6 days from the pinning and it still hurts. No red-ness or bruising, and minor swelling. Ive been taking advil too. Not sure what the hell happened..... i know the gears clean (homebrew), and injection technique was sterile as always.....

Your buddy should find a free clinic...even if the symptoms go away he could still have the bacterial infection and if by chance it is something in the gear he is using then the next injection could get much worse. Fat can store the bacteria for months after the symptoms go away. If he is afraid of telling the doc what he did tell the doc he injected B-12.

sometimes advil or aspirin will allow your body enough time to fight off the infection with the help of antibiotic and its own antibodies becuase you do not start healing until your trama swelling has abated

i guess i just have been blessed not to have this happen to me i really just stick to glutes and quads (tear drops and outter).

If he has any fever and/or chills in addition to the localized inflammation then it is most likely an infection. Will need to get on some antibiotics ASAP

I had cellulitis before. It is definitely MUCH more dangerous than an abscess. It can spread very quickly. It will be hot, red, swollen, and the skin WILL BE TIGHT. It may even look kind of like an orange peel in texture. There will usually not be a single collection as much as general swelling. You could also have an infection IN THE MUSCLE rather than the skin, which can be very bad. It will cause necrosis of the muscle tissue. With infections, ALWAYS better safe than sorry.

update: so I've been having my buddy take 600 mg ibuprofen 3 times per day and applying a heat pack to his shoulder 3 times per day, as well... and the swelling and pain have decreased considerably. There is no redness or heat now, either. He never developed a fever, or any of the other signs and symptoms of abscess/cellulitis that you guys talked about, either. I'm thinking that this was some sort of localized swelling due to one of the components of the test... probably BA or something. Either that, or it could be that he shot into his left deltoid 30 minutes before going to the gym for a hard shoulder workout (I told him not to do it, but he did it, anyways). Thanks for all the posts and responses, bros. These medical problems are pretty scary, sometimes. I will let you know if anything else happens/develops.

Last year I had (a?)cellulitis in my left bi. Pain, HOT, and redness. It was itchy too.
The redness actually had a shape to it to.It wasn't a redness that faded from red to the color of your skin. It was red that had a defined shape with little to no fading back to my regular skin color.

There was no mistaking whether something was going on or not....I just knew it that time. I think they put me on Augmentin. (eh..I think)

I have gotten cellulitus 2x and was prescribed Keflex the first tiem, didnt work for me. The second time I got an infection, I told the doc what worked before and he gave me extra bactrim, just in case I get one again.

If Im not mistaken Bactrim stops the infection from getting worse and your imune system is what ends up kicking the crap out of the infection.

I would get a medical opinion first. Try what they give you ....

Bro, cellulitus is nothing to mess with. It is always safer to go to a Dr. and get it checked and let the Dr. put you on antibotic. I'm 52 and have had both abcess and cellulitus and they both are not something to take lightly. Just my 2-cents hope your doing ok now.

Thanks... things are going fine, now. Not having health insurance can be difficult :(

Dont fuck around with a cellulitus infection.

I've had several and the last one I ended up in the ER getting my arm pit cut open, which by the way was the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. Bactrim is the only thing I've ever taken for it and it knocks it out cold.

One thing I have learned is that all of my bouts with cellulitus is this........if you have oily skin make sure you clean yourself properly with an anti bacterial soap. Bacteria can get trapped so easily and most of the time nothing happens. It just takes that one time for it to get trapped in a clogged pore and then manifest itself into a fucking painful infection. The times I've ended up with them thats exactly how its happened.

I had the same thing happen to me after a sustanon/Tren ace injection. The day after the injection, I couldn't lift my arm up to my face. It turned beat red and the area got really warm. The redness dissapated down my arm, And the pain was gone in a few days. Never went to the doc it's been fine since.

Why not deal with a problem before it occurs-infections painful gear test flu etc

I have seen thousands of posts in 13 years on these boards about pain inflammation infections cellulitus hell even dead tissue cut out and drained test flu out the ass guys miserable on stuff.

It's as simple as baking the gear at 160 degrees C in the oven for one hour then vent the vial quickly.
PEACE of mind. And no it doesn't destroy or degrade the hormone. If you are really meticulous you can pass it through a .2 um filter into a new vial and bake.

there are 2 goals to ensure that the gear is sterile and the BA pain factor is lower so baking and a dding some blank oil will make your gear like it shoud be. Potent clean and pain and particulate free.

Do the rght thing guys, it your cycle that gets fked up, it's you life that could go...worse case..take care of yourselves and IF any doubt you are in trouble get the ER 911 ASAP....

Purpose.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of temperature and time on the dry heat sterilization conditions of three different parenteral oil vehicles.

Methods. Three different oils, cottonseed oil, peanut oil, and sesame seed oil were each spiked with Bacillus subtillus spores. The inoculated oils were exposed to dry heat at 4 different temperatures (150ºC, 160ºC, 170ºC, and 180ºC) for three time intervals (1, 1.5 and 2 hours).

Following inoculation and dry heat sterilization, samples were placed in a sterile laminar flow hood and processed according to <71> Sterility Tests of the USP XXIII using thioglycolate broth and fluid D. The specimens were then placed into the incubator at 30ºC for 3, 5 and 7 days and observed for bacterial growth. The above variables were performed in triplicate. Positive and negative controls were run along with each variable and group for quality control.

Results. Cottonseed oil, peanut oil, and sesame seed oil were found to be free of Bacillus subtillus following dry heat sterilization at all four temperatures for 1, 1.5 and 2 hours at 3, 5 and 7 days. The positive controls were positive for observed growth and the negative controls had no observed bacterial growth.

Conclusions. Dry heat sterilization of parenteral oils at 150ºC for one hour was sufficient time and temperature. However the authors recommend dry heat sterilization at 160ºC for one hour after the oil has reached the desired temperature. These studies were partially funded by the Professional Compounding Centers of America, Inc."
