Doctor said i have heart problems

Every time Emeric posts he just drops knowledge! Thanks Em!

for the next 3 days when you get up in the morning....take your resting heart rate....come back in here and tell us the mean average of those 3 days

Treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with coenzyme Q10.
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is manifested by severe thickening of the left ventricle with significant diastolic dysfunction. Previous observations on the improvement in diastolic function and left ventricular wall thickness through the therapeutic administration of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) in patients with hypertensive heart disease prompted the investigation of its utility in HCM. Seven patients with HCM, six non-obstructive and one obstructive, were treated with an average of 200 mg/day of CoQ10 with mean treatment whole blood CoQ10 level of 2.9 mg/ml. Echocardiograms were obtained in all seven patients at baseline and again 3 or more months post-treatment. All patients noted improvement in symptoms of fatigue and dyspnea with no side effects noted. The mean interventricular septal thickness improved significantly from 1.51±0.17 cm. to 1.14±0.13 cm, a 24% reduction (P<0.002). The mean posterior wall thickness improved significantly from 1.37±0.13 cm to 1.01 ±0.15 cm, a 26% reduction (P<0.005). Mitral valve inflow slope by pulsed wave Doppler (EF slope) showed a non-significant trend towards improvement, 1.55±0.49 m/sec2 to 2.58+1.18 m/sec2 (P<0.08). The one patient with subaortic obstruction showed an improvement in resting pressure gradient after CoQ10 treatment (70 mmHg to 30 mmHg).

Another study reported:

The literature concerning the importance of coenzyme Q10 in health and disease has been reviewed. Usual dietary intake together with normal in vivo synthesis seems to fulfil the demands for Q10 in healthy individuals. The importance of Q10 supplementation for general health has not been investigated in controlled experiments. The literature allows no firm conclusions about the significance of Q10 in physical activity. In different cardiovascular diseases, including cardiomyopathy, relatively low levels of Q10 in myocardial tissue have been reported. Positive clinical and haemodynamic effects of oral Q10 supplementation have been observed in double-blind trials, especially in chronic heart failure. These effects should be further examined. No important adverse effects have been reported from experiments using daily supplements of up to 200 mg Q10 for 6-12 months and 100 mg daily for up to 6 y.

Treatment of dilated cardiomyopathy is aimed at decreasing the heart size and the substances in the bloodstream that enlarge the heart and ultimately lead to worsened symptoms:

If you smart and you start focusing on your health you will be OK.

First of all no HGH, tets or any other home made hormones. Your Dr. should test your total and free test after 3 months off from hormones. In the main time start taking Ubiquinol (CoQ10) with Humic/Fulvic acid and Humanofort.
I think your Dr. will have you take Beta-blocke, ACE inhibitor. If you have arrhythmia (irregular heart beat)your doctor may give you a medication to control your heart rate or lessen the occurrence of arrhythmias. Also lower your sodium to 3000mg per day.

You need to change your lifesytle , no heavy lifting and you need to do more aerobic exercises.
Don`t worry about TRT at this point, probably your Dr. will have you on 100mg test per week if your test level not coming back to normal after 3 to 4 months.

All of the things im doing after my heart attack and things haven't gotten any worse in the 5 yrs after.

What you really need to know is what is your ejection fraction? ask him that. If its below 30% that's when they start to get worried and you may end up with a defibrillator like me, im damn glad I have mine as it saved my life a little over 1 yr ago. My ef is about 20%, but I still pretty much live a normal life. No more steroids, like Emeric said. I had an endo look me over and she had me wait 10 months before she prescribed HRT, just to make sure my body wasn't going to recover on its own.
Any questions about heart, ask me.

how do i find my ejection fraction? will the chest xray tell me this?

You need to see a cardiologist and he will want a heart scan, until you do this, you won't know anything concrete. I'm very surprised your doctor didn't immediately refer you to one.

Yeah, will be needed to see if there has been any cell death. Hopefully the heart hasn't lost any tissue and it may recover mostly after the steroids are discontinued. That is exactly what happened to me when I was diagnosed with the same thing he has. I went from a 30% ef up to about 55% in less than 1 yr, no steroids.

its funny you ask this... i have problems breathing sometimes and i always thought it was anxiety. it feels like i just can't get my breaths deep enough. now im wondering if it has to do with the heart not pumping hard enough.

It is.

No, the echo would have though. They probably didn't tell you because they figured you wouldn't know what is was anyways or maybe they didn't want to scare you. hard to say.

I don't understand the chest xray as the echo is how they mearsure your ejection fraction??

Chest xray might be to see if he has a lot of fluid in his lungs. When you have bad heart failure the fluid starts to build up in the lungs. Mike Matarrazzo was coughing it up when he had his. Only thing that makes sense to me.

They can do a scan with a nuclear reactive tracer that will show if there is any tissue in the heart that is dead.

Great post.

I used to get some pretty nasty heart palpitations on higher doses. After supplementing with 300mg CoQ10 for a few weeks they went away never to return.

CoQ10 is one of the most heart healthy compounds there is... my BP also improved on CoQ10.

Personally I think everybody on gear should be taking CoQ10 and fish oil.

Yeah, I take it everyday only I use the form Ubiquinol which is supposed to be more active. I just ordered a bunch, they are having a sale.

I take 2 a day.

Wow man. I hope everything turns out alright for you. At least you caught it before it was too late. I always have a worry in the back of my head about my heart. How long have you been cycling if you don't mind me asking?

I need to look into that. I just use the cheap stuff. I have a huge bag of 100mg capsules sitting on my desk.

I'll buy Ubiquinol the next time to check it out... thanks for the link!
