Hi,

I usually eat 1 hour prior to my workout. I have some whey with oatmeal and a banana. However, half way through my workout my energy levels go way down. Is there any good energy drink that you guys suggest I could take during my workout?

How long are your workouts? :confused:
 
So you eat 1 hr before your work out... What do you eat the previous 2-3 meals? Point being it takes food longer than an hour for the nutrients to be utilized. Take in most of your carbs in the first part of the day and most importantly post work out and last 1-2 meals no carbs or less or same depending on your goals.

Typically cutting calories ie. carbs you will notice a loss of energy and strength. You cannont maintain the same amount of strenght while on 200g of carbs as you did on 500g of carbs (my experience).

This should help, if not have a cup of coffee 30 min before put on some head phones with some heavy metal and do it!

I am currently bulking and I eat lots protein and carbs in all meals. However, a couple of times a week I workout in the a.m so I only have a chance to eat once before I hit the gym and this is when I feel I need an energy drink to sip on during the workout.

Any good energy drinks you guys like?

I just drink a cup of coffee before I workout and another while I am working out.
 
I find pasta works great for energy and strength.. Try eating pasta in the meal before your whey/oatmeal/banana..

During your workout you could have a shake with coconut water and LBA's or milk and LBA's..

30 minutes prior to your workout you could have an energy drink (superpump 250, no-explode, ripped force, adrenaline stack, etc.)

Make sure you are properly motivated... Adrenaline is great for energy levels.. Watch a clip of a favorite movie that gets u pumped up or listen to some good music or get the balls to finally walk up to that hot chick in ur gym and get her phone number.. I prefer the third option... U will have the best workout after gettin the digits!

The carbs you ingest before a workout, do not actually be used during your workout. What they do is tell your body more carbs are coming, so your muscles can release and use stored glycogen for energy.

MCT's, from coconut oil. Google it, it's everywhere. Beyond A Century, DPS Nutrition et al.

Check out Emeric's recipe if I remember correctly 1-3TBSP apple cider vinegar and 1-3 tsp of MCT's mixed in Gatorade (he has other ingredients as well, but this is what I use based on his drink). I use it and can notice in increase in energy, especially on leg day. I'm actually developing a taste for the apple cider vinegar! It is not like caffeine or ephidrene, but good clean energy.

The energy drinks are full of calories that you dont need.IMO choose a diffrent carb before training The complex carbs(oatmeal) your intaking an hour before your training take a while to digest properly thats why your not feeling that energy.You might want to look into a simple carb (white pasta,white rice,potato ect...)

I started having my pwo shake starting about the middle of my workout drinking the first half, refilling my shaker cup with water and so forth.

Found the thread, and this is a combination of three of Emeric's posts...

First Post:
"I used to do this combination 30 minutes before my training, 500mg royal jelley, 1000 mg C vitamin, 1 table spoon MCT or Olive oil and 5 minutes before training 1 table spoon aple cider vinegar.

Royal jelly helps the growth of Glial cells which participate in signal transmision in the nervous system and having a stimulating effect on the nervous system."

"I head a product with all that combination plus Rhodiola Rosea,Phytin,and 100mg Caffeine. I did find a new extract which will help to dilate mental fatigue for 90 minutes, I am workin on the new formula. I do use aple cider vinegar on the daily base , and yes I am takeing the combination agent, on till I will have the new formula. I do also take 2 smal scoops of amino blend (L-Leucine, L-Valine, L-Isoleucine, L-Aspartic Acid, L-Lysine,L-Tyrosine, L-Phenylalanine) before my training. And I add 3 table spoon of aple cider vineger to a 1/2 galon water which I drink during my training."
