is ephedrine completely banned now?? or can i still get some..last i heard it was illegal to sell in certain parts like the midwest but i could still buy it from like cali..

In Oregon, they just passed a law that requires a prescription for most cold medicines (psudoephedrine I believe - the stuff thay use to convert to crack). This was so they could be kept behind the counter and keep the meth lab guys from buying huge quantities.

Just look for some bronkaid or primatene tabs. Each are 25 or 12.5mg of ephedrine and 400 or 200mg of guafensin (sp) respectively.

All of those OTC pseudoephedrine products are not optimal for fat-loss. Hell, there is pseudoephedrine in Nyquil, that will put you to sleep. I can't remember falling asleep the last time I used ephedra alkaloids. I have read several studies on PubMed that cited the strong beta-3 adrenergic stimulation that was associated with ephedra alkaloids. This was the main scientific argument for the FDA in the original case against ephedra. The OTC's don't provide the same effect due to the fact that the are standardized HCl, which seems to be innefectual for fat-loss, at least in comparison with actual alkaloids. Aren't ephedra alkaloids the same thing as ephedra?

I was under the impression of "just the opposite" as you stated. The standardized HCl of ephedrine is much more "predictible" than ephedra. It's skin to saying taking xxx amount of willow bark is better than 325mg of Aspirin. IMHO, Ephedrine is THE REAL STUFF not Ephedra.

The point I was making with what they did in Oregon (which INCLUDES Nyquil) is that they're (the government) tightening there reigns

Ephedra was taken away as an OTC med/supp. Its not scheduled.
Ephedrine HCL is sold OTC (mini thins and all those other bronchodiolators at the truck stops/mini marts). If you ask me the HCL is a more potent pure version. Just to show what the fat idiots who run our govt know. They left the stronger (IMO) version out there-plus its typically a higher doseage that Ephedra is (25mg to 20mg).
My advice-take one Eph HCL and take one Ripped Fuel 'ephedra free' (or other brand equivelent) and you have the good old stack you used to love.
